Sulik's Melee Weapons is a fair bit higher than his Unarmed, so he might be better off with a melee weapon anyway. You may want to consider exchanging the ripper for a super sledge or super cattle prod though.

It's harder than ranged for various reasons. Being burst at point blank isn't pleasant. It's still doable though. Unarmed is mostly better than melee. There are less unarmed weapons, and it's a cosmic leap from the spiked knuckles to the power fist, but the mega power fist is better than any melee w...

Uh...what?

You're comparing sneaking into Vault 8 to retrieve a wrench for a rather annoying sidequest to skipping to Navarro at the start of the game?

Right.

You can get unlimited super stims. You only need nuka cola, fruit and a stimpak to have Myron make a super stim, and those are all replenishing items in various vendors' stocks.

I prefer explosives though. It's just more amusing.

They look sort of like a joint to me. You can't use them because they're broken or something. Not classified as a weapon, or don't have an attack assigned or whatever. No 1-3 damage for you.

Suck or not, you can do it if you can't be bothered running around California looking for a Goddamn wrench.

You don't need to be a citizen to get into Vault 8. Enter combat mode and just walk in.

I think you can also get oil from the Brotherhood of Steel if you retrieve the Vertibird plans for them...just get your IN under 4 before you give the plans to Matthew.

The DR and AC modifiers seem all right to me. It's the dmg mod that's screwy. The ammo's dmg mod is basically what fraction of the weapon damage is applied to the target. If you're using a 10mm pistol chambered with JHP rounds, which have a dmg mod of 2/1, then you'll be doing two times the base wea...

It depends on the weapon. Every other monster has a high Laser resistance, but even Enclave troops are easily fried by plasma/electrical weapons.

The pulse rifle just has a lower accuracy. Even the standard plasma rifle, with its lower range, has a higher to hit than the pulse rifle.

It's not a perk, it's a karmic trait. I don't think it's dependent on your karma either, I think it has to do with how many good NPCs you kill. But I could be wrong on the second count. Anyway:

Since you agree why it made game balance sense in FOT, and there's no hint in the RPGs that I can think of to show the BOS using an internal currency then there's no more need to discuss them anymore agreed? Absolutely. Something needs to be sorted out regarding the need for currency, though. To be...

Yes, but then caps would've only had value to towns that trade with the Water Merchants. And this was back in Fallout, remember - most of southern California is now under the jurisdiction of NCR, and water isn't as much of a problem. In short, people just about everywhere can recognise the value of ...

Requiem - you're talking practical value. The value of gold, gems, money and the like is monetary. Our society values things like golden rings, and not because they could be melted down to produce a useful thimble. What practical value do bottlecaps have? None, obviously. My argument is that gold is...

You can get the FOB peacefully if you first obtain mission 3 for Navarro ("Retrieve the FOB from the base Commander"). You can get this by asking Cookie (the cook) how to get to the Enclave. If you have good Speech skill, you can then talk to the guard outside the Commander's office and sa...

Well, I'm aware of how the script system made sense in FO:T from a game balance perspective, but as we've seen in previous games, the BOS outfit their ranks the same as any modern-day army would. The supply system is particularly relevent to the BOS, who are practically an enclosed society in themse...

Yeah, no BOS money. Doesn't make sense for the BOS to use money in its internal affairs. Soldiers in an army don't have to buy their guns, do they? Besides, the BOS are (and wish to remain) relatively small, whilst NCR are expansionist. There's no reason the BOS would force their currency on the res...

I'll make this my last post here, I have a feeling this is about to descend into a grudge match. I've never said anywhere that it should be impossible to play a certain way, but there should certainly be 'good' choices and 'bad' choices. Otherwise there's no thinking involved. If you want to make po...

They're powerful by virtue of the fact that they're the most recent advancement in military technology. It was particularly noticable in Fallout, where energy weapons were head and shoulders above the other weapon types. It's not so noticable in Fallout 2 because there were nowhere near as many new ...
