Is this some sort of foul joke? Actually the funny thing is I supported the creation of FO, until I saw how it was being run. I thought it was going to be similar to the wasteland except without the goatse/porn and with a different style of spam. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I found out that it was really just the Third Reich in disguise.

Site like this needs active running from the top. And to be honest, whilst you're still free to do things like post pictures of men stretching their rectums out (which is cool, no arguement from me there) no-one can really cry fascism.

OH well, might as well douse myself in kerasene as post, but seeing as I have no kerosene...We were not Nazis....well, I wasn't, an until FO was cruelly gutted, I deleted next to nill. I tried to allow as much freedom as possible while not letting FO turn into the southern annex of WAstelands. Some people didn't like it, so they destroyed it. *shrugs* Teatime supported me, eventhough some of you have decided I'm Sadaam Osama Hitler. And he only locked FO because, currently, it can't be protected. And sadly, since you all show no interewst in leaving it be, it would HAVE to be protected in some way. And part of my problem, was Tank vanished, FO's resurection was more his child than mine, I just wanted a home for the vent. Without Tank...well, you saw. He was part of the old guard, and I have no idea what happened.

Let's clear this up because it's an annoying assumption.

#1. I'm on dial-up. For me to run the site completely is beyond silly.

#2. I have a full time job, a life, and many other interests which gives precious little time to devote to running DAC as a sole interest.

#3. I am more than willing to help where it is needed when I have free time and have helped to transform the site back into a running and useful fansite. I don't think anyone has the time to run the site fully - it is best to have it as a group effort and like I said I have given lots of support even when the site was effectively dead.

#4. I am sorry if I caused any sleepless nights or heart-wrenching pain and suffering for the other admin. I wish I could take it back but it will always be there. If you guys feel that I don't deserve to help the site because of this fine, but I think there are enough people to back my record of fairness up to continue helping run the site. I am more than willing to take back old jobs in being the mod for GD and Fallout Tactics modding or wherever else if you don't want to give me admin.

#5. Fallout Ranger - ok, "accidentally deleted" or not, the prick was more than deserving of being permanently gone from DAC. I say he should be "accidentally deleted" again and this time for good....

Yep.

JJ seems to me to be a lot like Sergeant Duncan from John Ringo's A Hymn Before Battle. He's been doing this stuff for years, and excels at it, but it has become old hat. That leads to boredom, and boredom leads to tinkering. And sometimes the tinkering ends badly.

If he isn't going to be re-admined he should at least be made a mod. I think all the good he's done over the years far outweighs one screw-up.

You know, that's a pretty underhanded way of doing things JJ. When you delete someone's account, you should at least say "I DELETED YOUR ACCOUNT", not say "oops I accidentally deleted your account". My point is, that you should admit what you did, not hide behind lies.

Heh, JJ didn't even say that much, Mr. Teatime e-mailed me saying that he (JJ)accidentially deleted my account, so yeah, you're a really ballsy guy JJ.

EDIT: Indeed JJ is a very good FOT modder I'll give him that much, no matter how much I may dislike him.

We're aware of the concerns people had with the way moderators were allegedly "rampantly deleting posts" (apparently about nylon). Efforts were under way to handle that (no post deletion / if you edit a post, make sure you say it's you and why you did it etc...). The problem is, making someone else a moderator with the express purpose of going in and deleting even more posts and edit even more posts doesn't exactly make the situation any better. Ideally it's preferred that if admins have concerns, they raise the issue in the admin forum, not make people mods because they were in IRC at the time and you felt like destroying the forum on a whim.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:#1. I'm on dial-up. For me to run the site completely is beyond silly.
I'm of the understanding that Kreegle ran DaC entirely on dial-up for some years. Even then, that only limits you when uploading large files (over 1/2 MB), not images or even posting news items.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:#2. I have a full time job, a life, and many other interests which gives precious little time to devote to running DAC as a sole interest.
Teatime doesn't run DaC as a sole interest either. Nor do I. Nor does King of Creation. Nor does Saint_Proverbius (nor does he run the Codex as a sole interest). Oddly enough, your limited time enables you to make moderators to destroy forums but not to do much else. I question whether someone with such limited time is suitable if the only time they have is devoted to destroying a forum. Mr. Teatime wouldn't have asked me to make some code to help prevent the problems if the forum was going to be canned. I also personally dis-like working on code that ends up being unnecessary.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:#3. I am more than willing to help where it is needed when I have free time and have helped to transform the site back into a running and useful fansite.
By...? Saint needed someone who could organise a group to help get DaC back. I realise you can't do it on your own. The same as I can't do it on my own nor can Mr. Teatime. I may be completely wrong but I can't name anything you've done and say "Wow, thanks JJ86 for that". By comparison I can search for content or news items and instantly bring up a lot of what Mr. Teatime and others have spent their limited spare time doing. I can even look at the front page and thank Saint and Calis for fixing the links. Your time as the only apparent one running DaC was marred by nothing actually happening.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:I don't think anyone has the time to run the site fully - it is best to have it as a group effort and like I said I have given lots of support even when the site was effectively dead.
Actually, you didn't. All you needed was the FTP passwords from Saint and you could've fixed the links on the front page to point to thevats.net. Instead, after a long, long time, we only managed to get a news post with correct links.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:#4. I am sorry if I caused any sleepless nights or heart-wrenching pain and suffering for the other admin. I wish I could take it back but it will always be there. A mod makes more sense but I simply cannot agree with re-instating your Admin for the above reasons. As I said before, an Admin's role is beyond managing posts in forums.
Jimmyjay86 wrote:#5. Fallout Ranger - ok, "accidentally deleted" or not, the prick was more than deserving of being permanently gone from DAC. I say he should be "accidentally deleted" again and this time for good....
He'll just re-create his account like he did last time.

At the end of the day though, what you did was simply too "Killzig" for anyone's liking. Sure it might've been funny to some but so was Megatron e-mailing tubgirl to everyone. Funny it maybe but it's those actions that can potentially kill DaC. I can not support an Administrator who'd venture down that path.

Finally, Feelings Online will be re-opened once we move to our new host (within the next two weeks). Measures are now in place that we will use to keep problematic users away from FO. If you don't like what you read in the forum, then that forum's probably not for you and I'd advise against you posting in it. People who post in it with the express intent of creating havoc will be prevented from accessing / replying in that forum.

If anyone has a genuine concern with the way things are run, PM an administrator or one of the forum moderators (all of them, if you want) or talk to them in IRC or make a post in this feedback forum. I'm personally more inclined to listen to someone who goes to the extra effort of raising a concern "seriously" then I am to someone who calls people nazi's and posts pictures of tubgirl in the forum they have a problem with.

Complaints limited only to "why do we have this forum" or "get rid of the forum because I personally don't want it" will be ignored. The new moderators of FO will ensure the purpose of the forum is much clearer. While DaC continues to have a section of the community who desire Feelings Online, DaC will have Feelings Online.

Cheers to UD for actually explaining the situation in a serious and fair way. That's what I want and expect from an admin, not some "lol NMAer" bullshit.

Maybe I'm missing something - what exactly is the problem with DAC? The site itself is good - lots of news, a strong fanbase, good site design. The links need a bit of tweaking, I suppose, but it's not as if DAC is a broken-down hull in need of a new engine.

Too many idiots on the forums? Big deal. You get that on any forum, regardless of its content. Seriously, if anyone can speak unfavorably about the forum users, it's me (getting banned for doing exactly nothing tends to be a turn-off), but it's a fact that most FO fans are an passionate, angry, restless bunch. Ergo, you get spam-o-licious forums and general stupidity all around, especially since FO news is so scarce.

I just think DAC is fine the way it is. It functions well as a place where FO fans can gather, which is really all it needs to be.

But yeah, I like DAC the way it is. And I don't like people comparing it to the older days of DAC. Fuck that, it's over. Just stay or go away, stop bitching.

ooops, haven't been to much things here in the forums, mostly FO Tactics modding and news...and i'm a bit shocked bout what i found here...

first i want to state that i'm feeling good that DAC is here, i like the way Mr. Teatime and the team handles the whole and i don't mind a little 404 here and there...(i even like Masta T's music  )...and i see that everything is going to get better and better...

i remember sending Mr Teatime a pm offering a little help...i say little cause i know that i'm saying "yes" to often but can't handle the whole "yes"...and the way i see (and know his helping hand) JJ86 he also tends to say "yes" to fast...we both have to say "no" much more often... :eyebrow:

not to see JJ here, would take some fun for me out of DAC...so plz let him be still a part of it... i'd like to see him beside the other good moderators at the mapper forums again...

thnx for patience and DAC
