They actually used them in Finland (well, technically Sweden at that time). Pretty unvictorious, since it's really just a wild animal with the only good aspect being the really long legs. I've read somewhere that it was awesome for pulling a slay through soft snow in forests and shit, but otherwise wasn't worth the trouble since there were plenty of horses around.
yah, but the thought was that they'd scare the enemies who had nevar seen moose before.
Lucky us that the germans (preussians?) never saw em. Then they would have invaded.
Nowadays german tourists come here (and probably finland too) and buy moose shit in glass jars.
edit: oh, and they steal moose road signs too

SiGs generally are very nice guns. Tomorrow is the day I take delivery of a P226, of course right after that I have to go back to the acid mines, make money for the funny, like more ammo and magazines and shit, SON. We'll see how it is tomorrow, pictures to follow in the evening after I get home, unless I fall into the trash compactor and get turned into a cube.

Very good. Unfortunately, it's too large for comfortable concealed carry, the ammo is too expensive for frequent practice, and it costs too much for a gun I would've probably only carried 3-4 times in my entire life and shot a 50-brick once a month. Other than that, it's a great, great, great gun. It's probably the most impressively built handgun I've ever handled (which isn't saying a lot, however). It'd make an awesome duty or car gun. For carry, I'm personally looking into a heavy compact .45Also how would you rate your satisfaction with Sig overall?
Your mileage may vary.I'm thinking of picking one up myself, wanted to get an idea what to expect.
Found a nice new one (P232) for an even nicer price. I can't believe how tight the tolerances are and the balance is top notch, all and all a fine piece of machinery. Was also surprised at how easy it was to take down and clean. The European style magazine release took a little getting used to but I somehow doubt I'll be doing any tactical reloading in an alley or parking garage, especially since such encounters are over relatively quickly. But yeah, now that i've got that I have no reason not to go get my CC permit. I'll try and get some pics of the first test fire to post later.
As a side note I think it will make a nice little shooter, I very much doubt I will carry it that often as I don't live in a particularly rough area. Still nice to have that option and even nicer to own a Sig.

I find it rather enjoyable, and I'd agree it can be a bit meditative. Shit, "Zen and the Art of Handgun Maintenance" and "Zen and the Art of Explosion Driven Lead Projectiles" are so much more interesting than that motorcycle and archery jazz.ApTyp wrote:I have become convinced that using a pistol at a range past 10 yards is an exercise in Buddhist meditation, not combat training.

We won't have the right to own handguns anymore in Canada
