let's discuss jazz fusion :atoga:

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

word, i was just listening to that, in fact. check out the vandermark 5's album where they cover a bunch of sun ra & funkadelic songs (i forget what it's called).

peter brotzmann is also rather dope.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra.

It's the first I listened to and my favorite.

sun ra was a pretty crazy motherfucker, you should probably read the wikipedia article about him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Ra

Cosmic Tones For Mental Therapy/Art Forms Of Dimensions Tomorrow is what i'd recommend.

check out Cosmos (76)
Sun Ra Arkestra meets Salah Ragab (84)
and maby Sun Ra Visits planet earth- interstellar low ways (56) and Omniverse (79)

I have to admit that I can't enjoy every piece Ra ever made, some can be a bit exsausting, to say the least. The recordings above should give you a pleasant introduction.

also check out the film Space is the Place if you can get ahold af a copy, pretty disturbing, didn't manage waching all ov it myself...
