What? Why the hell do you need all that? What the hell do you do with that gun? And what's the big deal about getting more like it?

Who here owns a K98K? Any info on them? I know they make nice aftermarket stocks for them, I just want one with a nice wood stock.
:raises hand:

Awesome weapon, got an original German (in addition to a Yugo, which is still 8mm ) , for $250, and rechambered it for .338 Win Mag, put a BSA Panther scope on it, along with a tan spiderweb stock and a match-grade trigger. You wouldn't believe what that thing did to a coyote I recently met.

Why shouldn't he have it? The government has them and they aren't always the nicest guys to have running around armed. Level the playing field a little bit.

P.S. I love my AK

one day i plan to neck down some 50.bmg rounds to .17 hornady, and build a revolver to shoot it.

actually, im going to build a 7.62x54r six shooter and a pistol, ill probably use a Taurus for the revolver and mabey a desert eagle or a 1911 for the pistol base.

there will be pics, and ill take pic of someone else shooting them ( im not stupid).

Oh noes NMA!!!oneone!
I hunt tweakers with it. At night. Hence the illuminated scope. I need night vision though, they tend to hide in the shadows. LMFAO.

What's the big deal? WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?! Hehe. I like ARs and I want an AR10 because it is a good weapon system and I have heard great things about it, I like the platform in the first place, no reason to change it when I am use to my ARs. Everything is in the right spot, they are reliable (regardless of what Counter Strike weapon gurus spew on the internet), they look sexy (IMHO), they provide easy mounting options, oh yeah and by the way, did I mention they look sexy?! The only thing I don't like about which in any case has nothing to do with the rifles themselves is ammo, it is too expensive and I don't reload!

Only $250 for a K98 you say? Nice. The only aftermarket thing I would get for it is a wood stock. That's all I want.

I am also thinking of getting a bolt rifle of some kind preferably either in .308 (cheaper route) or .300 Rem Ultra Mag (if I were to start reloading that is).

Edit

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention AR10s are *generally* the most accurate out of the box .308 battle rifles available. I would take one over an M1A, Fal, G3/PTR91, ect. if I were to spend under $2000 on one. Plus I just like how they look, it is what I prefer both aesthetically and ergonamically, handling wise. Oh yeah but I think it would be cool to get a DSA Fal also. Damn, so many guns, so little money to work with, I need to quit smoking or drinking or both.

And I also forgot to mention that I would rather get a POF-USA .308 instead of the Armalite, but due to money troubles, I may just end up with the Armalite.

Here are Patriot Ordnance Factory Inc. .308s, 11.5" Commando and 16" carbine (that's the one I want!). Gas Piston systems that are super accurate out of the box, the only problem I could see in getting one is their track record, not as prominent as Armalite.

http://www.pof-usa.com/images/P-308%20G ... 201662.JPG

If that's not bad ass I don't know what is.

Edit again

Oh yeah and I have talked to a POF USA employee directly about the accuracy of their new .308s. He told me, and actually brought me a target confirming this (although no, I wasn't there) that their short barreled rifles CAN shoot around 1 MOA.

I love the AR 10 myself, and yes, there are many great things about it like its relatively low recoil and accuracy to name two things.

Only $250 for a K98 you say? Nice.

That's for an original German, they have Yugos for $140, if you don't mind turning down the bolt yourself.

If you want a decent bolt action in .308, I'd suggest a Remington 770

Yeah but the wolverines I want to hunt live in Michigan, around Ann Arbor and I need to rack up combo bonuses with the bullets that punch through several people.

Martinis are fantastic, and wonderfully nostalgic. That 45-90 is a heartstopper.

No.5 Jungle Carbine, picked it up at the gunshow yesterday. Price said $275, I said $250, he thought about it and said alright. It was made in 1946 so it didn't kill nobody important, like Imperial Japanese soldiers. Oh well, I've wanted one for a long time. Now to find a pith helmet.
George Bush lowered taxes so the Jews could kill Michael Moore.
