Half Life Wasteland mod

Post by [HpA]SniperPotato »

This guide will help you set up the Half Life 1 mod called Wasteland.
It is basically a first person Fallout deathmatch.

These steps will ensure that you will be able to play with everyone else.

1) You will need Hamachi. Once you get that setup, join this room
Room: coopnet123
Pass: 123

2) Torrent Half Life 1 or install it from a CD. Do not use the steam version as it has a different patch that you can only get from steam.

3) Install the 1.1.1.0 patch
http://www.fileplanet.com/57317/downloa ... ll-Client)

4) Install the 1.1.1.1 patch
http://www.fileplanet.com/155583/downlo ... 1.1-Update

5) Download the Wasteland Beta 2 mod
http://www.fileplanet.com/53107/downloa ... e-Beta-2.0

6) Download the update for Wasteland Beta 2
http://www.fileplanet.com/54144/downloa ... 2.0-UPDATE

7) Once everything is installed correctly, decide who will host. The first
time you play the mod you will have to set the controls to "Default" because
the genius who set them is a genius as I just said.

8) After the host creates the game, he/she must press ~ (tilde) and type sv_lan 0
That will allow others to join the game.

9) The players will then use the hosts IP from the Hamachi room and press ~ (tilde)
and type connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx being the IP)

10) Kill

Old, but one of the best mods ever made for HL IMO.

Very stylish, yet rugged. some of the best reloading animations ever. Especially with the dual colts.

If anyone can inform me of how to host a dedicated server or get it working under XP 64 instead of through VMware I'd be much appreciative.

I remember we once got a game going with quite a few people from here. That must have been... four or five years ago.

Regardless the original version of the game was far superior to the Wasteland update, not sure which one is being linked here.

I'm trying to get a group of people to play this again if there's any interest. Add me on steam (remegseb@aol.com is the username)

Wait, this a multiplayer Half Life 1 mod? I always thought it was only single player.

If you want a great single player experience look no further

than playing a multiplayer game by yourself
