The Movies, Music, and Games thread

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

Repo! The Genetic Opera

Image
A worldwide epidemic encourages a biotech company to launch an organ-financing program similar in nature to a standard car loan. The repossession clause is a killer, however.

Quarantine

Zombie/rabies survival horror. Remake. I liked the buildup. Once the action starts you don't get a pause. The usual ending. Not for haters of shaky cam. Date movie? Definitely.

I didn't know it was a Remake but I think I would have enjoyed it if it hadn't been shaky cam. By the time we got out I had to take something for my headache and it lasted all night. Shaky cam I guess because it worked in the setting but I think you could have easily gotten the same story without having to worry about being in the perspective of the camera.

I'm not sure what to think of it.
I don't like the trailer's music, that's for sure.

Paths of Glory

8.5 / 8

One of the earliest movies by :kubrick:, and dare I say, one of the finest. Saving private ryan meets johnny got his gun. You can virtually smell the trenches in your nostrils.

does this refer to:
the boast of heraldry, the pump of power
and all the beauty, all that world e'er gave
awaits alike the inevitable hour
the paths of glory lead but to the grave
?
(quoting from memory with mixed feelings about being able to)
