The trick, you see, is to not kill children. I find that, in my experience, that's the best way to not have child killer. You see, you're just stuck with it. You do have two options. You can load a savegame (you are using all ten savegame slots, right?), which is the decent honorable thing to do, or you can get an editor and use it to remove that perk, which is the cheap, despicable, worse-than-child-killer thing to do.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Ironically, it doesn't matter much in the end if you kill them deathclaws or not. You'll see.
 sorry, didn't mean to spoil.

Sure it does Vasika, unless you return to v13... Given you kill them what you're talking about always happens, where if you don't, well, if you never return to v13 the game won't "kill" them

What, no more talking deathclaws? How's that sad?

Yeah, but I count that event as a part of the FO2 story. :)

Oh well, it's just you don't hear about it... So they probably just died by a distraught NCR group of some kind who saw them as a menace :D

Or they expanded their territory and started ravaging the wastes until they found the Burrows and with help of the talking elvish racoons took over the BOS and are keeping Feargus Urquhart as hostage. How's that for a starting point for FO3?

Actually, in a vain effort to save them, I planned my route to hit V13 as late as possible in the game. I actually returned after destroying the Enclave to find living deathclaws. The next time I returned, Frank Horrigan had magically resurrected himself to exterminate Gruthar's pack.

It seems to me that BIS bit off a lot more than they could chew; the last four or five locales seem to be more thrown together than the rest of the game. Understandable because its a massive game, but disappointing nonetheless.

The entire game feels thrown together.

That actually makes sense. Frank Horrigan killed Gruthar and his pack before you destroyed the Enclave. You just weren't there(V13) to see it. No resurrections needed.

But they were alive *after* the Enclave and Horrigan were dead.

Well, I managed to get Marcus with the childkiller karma, he doesnt care. And i was really counting on the robot at SAD, but the Wrights wont talk to me cause of my rep i think. Marcus died when i took out the bishops, but he was slow anyway.. I found out alittle trick: Seeing as Gunther wouldnt help me out, i snuck around him and went up the elevator, repaired the computer, then you get the experience and the love, plus the geck. so it all worked out.. I really want to go to the sierra army depot though, is there anyway to get there besides the wrights?

OK, I misread your post. The banner distracted me!

It's not really a big deal if you have NPCs or not. In the beginning they're helpful but in the end you can solve all problems and beat all fights without their help.
