Wierd encounter??

I heard somewhere if you wander just north of Gecko you will eventually run into a trader that looks like Greedo from Star Wars when Obi Wan and Luke are in the cantina lookin for a pilot ya you know the alien that gets killed... But anyways you're supposed to get a decent weapon from him is this true or is it a bunch of crap?

No, however there is a trader who has the Alien Blaster. I don't know where he hangs, and it's not dependant of your PC's luck stat...

I've heard that a trader hanging around Modoc that only trades with negative karma PCs sometimes carries the blaster.

If you travel the 9 areas above Modoc a lot you will eventually run into a trader/merchant with guards...when you talk to him he will try to sell you stuff (even a Ripper) but if you get lucky he will try to sell you an Alien Blaster (kill him then, that way you will get 3 of them).

p.s.
The price for the Alien Blaster is 80 000-90 000 (I think).
I had a karma of about 2500 when I met/killed him.

Karma's irrelevant. It's just a random encounter with a trader that happens to have an Alien Balster in his inventory... Though he's always around Modoc.

Exactly, allthough I searched around Modoc for a very very long time (trust me) and I only managed to find him above Modoc...and I found him 3-4 times there.

I seemed to get it only once, no matter how long I wander... And that time I was too low level, so I didn't have enough guts or money to get the blaster... Too bad...

Oh yeah, kill him if you don't wanna pay that price. It's not really that pricey IIRC, 10000$ was it? but you better kill him anyway. Some merchants sell only if you have a low karma, but I've gotten this merchant with both good and evil characters. Weirdly some of his guards if not all carry mausers.

I don't remember, but I doubt it was that much. Maybe it depends of your character.

Most probably quite dependant of your Barter skill. The higher the price (in relation to the original price), the higher the barter skill has an affect on the price outcome.
