Message about what the best alien sparked this poll. Just wondering what you guys like better, Predator or Predator 2?
I liked Predator 2 better, even though I am a big Arnold fan and Jesse Ventura kicked ass. Anyway, Predator 2 was just better in my opinion, Bill Paxton all the way !

Holy crap. Without a shadow of a doubt, it has to be Predator. Damn, I can't even believe someone actually likes Predator 2 more than #1! That's outrageous!
Billy: I'm scared Poncho.
Poncho: Bullshit! You ain't afraid of no man!
Billy: There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man. We're all gonna die.
Predator is superior to Predator 2 in every way imaginable. I... I'm lost for words. I... excuse me for a while, I need to go and sit down.

Agreed - Predator 1 was, by far, the better of the two.
Although, that scene in P2 with the frozen cow carasses and Gary Busey's character was pretty freakin' cool, that one scene isn't enough to tip the scales in P2's favor

Bonk
The sequels just for when youre bored and dont have anything else to do... at all.
The jungle and soldiers scenary just fit better to the most ultimate of all hunters. Although I most say that the end of Pred 2 was pretty cool, with all the other predators and the flint lock. Gives you an even better wiew of the Predators pride and gamesmanship then the end of Pred 1.

Predator 1 all the way. The sequel had its moments, but towards the end it got really crappy. Why was the pred so eager to self destruct when he's hanging off the building? The final battle sucked balls, too. Although, the inside of the predator ship was cool. The trophy wall with a skull from an "Alien" was a nice touch.
Blegh, morfology and the predator-way dont mix. Preds are headhunters that seek just pride. Killing a negro wielding a pointy caign is a poor reflexion of this desire. Neither is killing a cop armed with a device he hardly knows a thing about.
In pred 1 the beast was opposed by serveral sturdy marines equiped with state of the art firearms. It nearly won, so what kind of a fiend does one poorly equiped police officer make?
Overal, i find the story is lacking.
A pred walking 6th avenue is like a lion sitting on ur weed floor. Ud rather avoid it, but if it does happen..u run away from it.

Sometimes an atomic weapon is just an atomic weapon, ja?
Danny Glover? Arnie? Danny Glover? Arnie? Hmm, I'll take "Arnie Quotes" for 500 thanks.
Predator is so fucking cool. The DVD interviews are pretty cool.
McTiernan: "Sonny (Landham, actor who plays Billy) was a hoot. We knew we wanted him, but the insurance company wouldn't let us hire him without a bodyguard. Now the bodyguard wasn't for Sonny, the bodyguard was there to protect other people from Sonny."

Only a real artist knows the actual anatomy of the terrible, or the physiology of fear - the exact sort of lines and proportions that connect up with latent instincts or heriditary memories of fright, and the proper colour contrasts and lighting effects to stir the dormant sense of strangeness.

John Hurt, let alone Ian Holm, lord of the little actors, who's performance was almost equal to that of Jack Nicholson in The Shining, or Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs.
I saw The Emporer's New Clothes at 2:10 on a saturday SOLEY because I am outraged that he is 80 and still only a second hand character actor. IAN HOLM FOREVER!
