Mad Max 4 gets closer!

Post by Kreegle »

<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>

I love good stories like this... <a href="http://www.moviehole.net/" target="_blank">Moviehole</a> has a juicy rumour about <b>Mad Max 4</b>... apparently filming will start next March!<blockquote><em>"Mad Max" fans should be happy with the news Moviehole has received this morning. After months - make that years - of rumours and speculation, the film is a 'go picture'. An insider tells us that Fox Studios in Sydney have just made a deal with George Miller to have the film shot there in March of 2003. Negotiations are still underway between Icon, Fox and George Miller to iron out further aspects of the deal.</em>

Good, if Icon's in the picutre it means good ol' Gibson'll be there. this is the first time I've heard about Icon in the deal and it being there reassures me as I can't imagine a Mad Max without him.

Great, every other series gets a sequel except Fallout!
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to another Mad Max movie. I hope it aint as silly as the previous 2 sequels.

Yeah, I know what the 4th Mad Max will be about. We're gonna see the return of some characters from Road Warrior. One in particular is a grown up version of the feral kid. Max meets up with their convoy and has to escort them to safety or something. George Miller is supposedly going back to what made the first sequel so damn good.

Mel Gibson is not only the star, but he will most likely co-direct alongside Miller.

If you live in the US get the Mad Max DVD. The VHS version is dubbed for some reason. A couple days ago they showed the undubbed on tv for the first time. If you managed to see it consider yourself lucky.
For Road Warrior, try to find the VHS special edition widescreen release. I'm pretty sure there's a DVD but it sucks ass.

If you've never seen Beyond Thunderdome, watch it once followed by Road Warrior a few times. Hollywood tried to fuck up the series so much with the 3rd movie. It would be infinitely better with a new musical soundtrack. To me, music makes the movie. Thunderdome has an annoying almost Disney sound track which doesn't fit Mad Max at all. The first hour is pretty cool, especially when he enters Barter Town. The rest kind of drags until the train chase scene at the end and the cool destroyed Sydney fly-by.

I saw an undubbed version of the first one on a movie channel on TV, and it was great. I just loved the whole concept of the Main Force Patrol. And the shots with the Hall of Justice sign made me tingle with joy for some reason.

I saw the last hour and a half of Beyond Thunderdome, and I wasn't impressed. The whole tribal legend thing was kind of cool, but aside from that...

I have woefully never seen Road Warrior, and persistently ask myself: why the hell not?
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Spazmo, I strongly advise you to order the VHS off Amazon. It's a classic no fan of good action movies should live without. I first saw Road Warrior and Thunderdome when they were in theaters. Was just a kid back then, but something about Mad Max stuck with me. Be it the cool cars, a badass loner main character, or whatever. I guess when you get older you miss out on these kinds of influences.
Maybe I was just a weird kid who watched gory monster movies while everyone else my age stuck with cartoons.

Recently I talked a couple friends of mine who never saw Road Warrior to rent it. It's now their favorite movie of all time.

I dont consider myself a fan of action movies.
However, I love Mad Max, and therefore will place it in the Adventure catagorey.
Have seen 2. Should see 1. Wont see 3.

The loading scene from FO:T where a BOS soldier is standing on a hill overlooking a small town, is straight out of Road warrior, and in beyond thunderdome, Check out when max is walking up to bartertown, LOL, they have raiders, complete with armour and getting their heads shaved!!!

Funnily enough, ever wonder why there were no bikes in FO? motorbikes have an enormous lifespan, usually a lot longer than cars....just a thought.
