Did you d/l the demo on steam? It worked pretty gut for me, surprisingly.

The naval battles are impressive. :drunk: Arrgh

This game covers the Seven Years War because most factions in this game are present in the war.

Pre-ordered it, planning on downloading it when I wake up so it'll be done when I through with my classes. I'm really looking forward to the two player campaign multiplayer setting.

yea.. ill probably pick it up soon, when i get some money :/
It does run very well, It is a very flexible game graphicly, what i mean by that is that you can change the setting very low or very high. Im suprised though that low actually looks decent.

I must say the TW runs surprisingly smoothly on my somewhat outdated computer, except for some crash issues once in a blue moon. Prussia is kicking ass as per usual. :grosspreussen:

Before you know it it's all Otto von Bismark, gray moustaches and patriotic marches :salute: Then we get the swastikas and Norway '67.

The ability to rename my ships did make it slightly easy to look like a nazi. I bought 4 books on the third reich on sale, so I have plenty of ammunition.

Graf Zeppelin sunk those danish fuckers. :salute:

That, and the charmingly schizophrenic, amnesiac 'diplomacy' model.

Will to play : Gone, gone, gone. A pity, as the mod community remains quite active. Missed gems among the requisite dross.

Kingdoms elicited marginally less ennui.

Predecessor preferred. :drunk:
That's why I stopped playing Medieval 2 myself. In Empire the 'agents' are less annoying, and the diplomacy and battle AI is noticeably improved.

However, there's still the lack of a 'ceasefire' option in battles, and the naval battles are a little difficult to control...

Verdict: Good sequel.

This game is absolutely awesome.

Gonna go back playin' it, yo.

Update: this game is no longer awesome. Encountered two "crash pits" that have made the game unplayable.

For some reason I can't end turn anymore. If I do, it'll show the AI move for a couple of minutes and then crash right to the desktop. The second thing is, that if I want to select my navy units, the game crashes also. Not much of a chance to conquer and plunder and shit, unless I somehow come up with airplanes in the 18th century.

This retarded Steam system also makes me want to pull my hair off. I hate Steam.

Your E.TW is to awesome for your own good. I have some slight issues myself that leads to the game crashing at the most retarded times, usually right after I win a battle, but right before the auto-save. It keeps complaining about lack of memory on mah graphx card. But the only properly annoying thing is running it in steam. Fucking useless trash.

I did occupy texas though, that was quite gut. :prussia:

Reminds me-- I might have Romanian citizenship soon so that means that, if it works out, I'll be able to work anywhere in the EU. Catman sets up a vacation for himself, it could be the first mostly-full DAC irl meet. In fucking EUROPE.
Don't know how DML would make it work but he's from Jersey so you know he'll find some way to get things operational via killing a cab driver.

Sweaty fantasies galore

I'm getting weird lag in there all the time. Clicking on a unit lags until the green moving area appears around it. Scrolling the map, when moving the mouse to the sides of the screen, lags.

Even with a smaller resolution, shader 2.0, no AA, bilinear filtering and low graphics.

I mean, Fallout 3, Crysis, C&C3, CoD4 all run at medium/high without trouble, Medieval 2 ran at max details, and Empire seems like pretty much the same graphic wise?

Not sure really. I to get a slight delay when the green movement indicator shit is supposed to pop up, but battles are running ok, so I'm not going to complain.

I know CoD4 is programmed by nazi-defectors with extreme understanding of perfection, so it runs pretty much on all computers, even my old laptop which cannot run Rome: Total War without it turning into a lag/crash-fest.
