The problem is, that I can't take on a bunch of armed gunmen, no more a herd of centaurs! :) But soon... soon...

Maybe use psycho, buffout and mentats to boost your toughness, to get through the worst encounters?

But then again Max wasn't a drug addict was he?

He also wasn't a pussy, but you don't see that stopping Kashluk!

Is leveling about 10 levels by killing enclave guards in random encounters counts as crazy ?

what free items do you get?

one time I started a female character named Buffy because I wanted to use a character editor to give me superstrength so I could punch out mutants with my bare hands and couldn't think of any other appropriate names

if you name your character Zelda do you get to the second quest?

In my current game I am playing as...myself! Here are the stats:

S-5, P-8, E-4, C-4, I-7, A-5, L-8.

Trait: Small Frame
Tags: Small Guns, Sneak, Speech

As you can see my very first problem was getting through the Temple. Could barely survive one ant, let alone a couple of scorpions. Eventually was able to sneak most of the way without fighting, but obviously I couldn't stand up to Klint. Discovered that I could steal a key off him, unlock the door and just walk out without fighting. Doubtless you already knew this, but it was news to me.
Then almost got killed fighting the plants in Hakunin's garden. That seems about right.

Has anybody done this kind of game before, and how did it go?

Here is a tactic I learned for fighting ants. Punch/kick once and leave 3 or 4 AP for walk away. That way they don't have enough AP to attack after they follow you. For the scorpions, you need 4/5 AP to retreat. For the plants, attack, and retreat 2 steps away (you need 2 spaces between you and the plant), that way the only attack that they can do against you is the spikes, and only for 4/5 attacks.

Eventually I used pretty much that tactic against the ants, having barely enough agility for it. Stayed strictly away from the scorpions. That is a good idea for the plants, I didn't know they ran out of spikes.

That sounds like a very interesting twist. I think my character would have too many attribute points left unassigned. At least I'd have a decent perception and agility :P

Using FAME and various mods i am going through the game with every NPC in my party.
I dont know if this is crazy but it sure makes the battles a lot of fun.

Well, I can't take credit for those tactics. I read them somewhere, but I do get credit for passing them along. Its helpful tactic for the beginning. Makes the beginning a little easier.

Especially when you are working for a caravan, and get the horde of floaters and centaurs fighting super mutants and rangers, so there's like 50 guys on the screen.

That's when the trusty 486 caves in

I like to get all of the dogs in my group. Deadmeat, robodog from NPC, and the one from Navaro.

Okay, not all of the dogs. Those 3 anyway.

I think I might try going through the game with a quirky character. Hmm.. which weapon should I choose? And what armor?

I can't decide, Mauser, Regular BB gun (not the 25 damage one), or the pipe rifle? Hmm.. That'd be something, going through the whole game using a pipe rifle & black leather.

Well maybe better armor. What difficulty setting? Hardest? Sounds like Diablo in Hell difficulty.
