Well, it isn't necessarily that strict a choice. Just use common sense (hard to breath - might want to send the robot).

I used Legion for the tube, the blue chick for the mind shields, the doctor to escort the survivors (everyone made it out alive) and Garrus for the separate squad leading while the group split up.

I got through my first game without a single person dieing. :+1:

I also have to admit that I'm looking for the console commands for ME2 so I can get teh uber armor and all that, but all of the posts I've found are from like 6 months ago and they are saying no one has found how to access the console yet. Did they eventually find a way to do it?

Oddly enough, since I wanted at least some of them to die, so did I. Masked chick on the tube, mental chick for the shield, the one who looks like a piranha in power armor on escort and Garrus leading everything else. Weird suicide mission when no-one dies. Bet they're sitting on the ship going "why'd I blow all my savings before coming on this trip?".

Oh and KoC get some mining guide to see which planets have the most resources, since mining is about as much fun as ironing bedsheets.

Edit: maybe this helps? http://www.masseffectsaves.com/mods.php scroll down to maxatv's mod which unlocks all armor from the start.

From what I remember, the console was hardcoded to be inaccessible. Instead, you can dabble with things like this reasonably intuitive save editor - or this modification utility (allows one to fuck about with physics/weapons/NPC loadouts etc). There's also variants of coalesced.ini floating around with features like 'F1 to not die' and 'R to thresher maw'. May/not be your mug of earls.

Unless you like the prospect of RSI, just cheat for minerals. The legitimate way is needlessly time consuming. :drunk:

Nice info, thanks hombres. My main reason for cheating is that combat becomes less than fun very quickly, so I want uber items to make combat end quickly.

Here's another take on the 'console' for ME2: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Twe ... ffect_2%29

After about an hour of fiddling around with the file I still haven't figured out how to bind a fucking weapon to the quickslot bar though...

From what I remember, the engine doesn't seem to support that function. You could bind a weapon directly to a key, instead, but that would also effectively summon that weapon, irrespective of initial loadout. An example :

( Name="PageUp", Command="giveitem self Machinegun | giveitem self MassCannon" )

would provide both the M-76 Revenant and the M-98 Widow. Note that this would replace your previous assault rifle and sniper rifle, until you load a save. You would add that command to a 'bindings' under BIOInput / [SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault]. I've done so manually, but I personally prefered this utility. As it's been some months since I last tinkered with the guts of the game, there may be (a) superior option(s) available now. :drunk:

I finally gave in last weekend and shopped around for Vicky2, couldn't find it, got home, googled it, found out it's only available online at the moment, so I got it on steam. So far I've done two games to decent length, in one Prussia has formed Germany and I've slapped some people around, but the UK is just too beefy to slow down, the US is too isolated to engage, and the French just keep rebuilding after I kick their dicks in. In the other I've made Japan into a major power by wiping out the Koreans and am now looking to either take a chunk of Russia [if I can] or expand into Indochina. The Japan game is rough, mostly because the damn UK [once again] are insane. I throw 150,000 men into the fight and they come back with 750,000. Not to mention they've conquered a fair chunk of Siam and China, so they're pressing in on my happy little sphere of influence. Prussia is rapidly approaching 1900, the Japan game is closer to 1875, I think. My favorite part is watching the struggle over the eighth and occasionally seventh major power slots. Usually it's sorted by the latter half of the 19th century, but it's funny to see the Ottomans, Spaniards, Portuguese, Dutch, and even a few single-territory germanic states pop in and out of major power status until it balances out.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

Victoria II is fun as hell. My first playthrough was with the USA, and my last game I had Uber Germany and had everything from the Rhine to Warsaw and Crimea. I can't decide what country I should be in this playthrough, I'm thinking either China or Madagascar or something because I don't want to be a grand power and I don't want to be European or one of the civilized nations. Maybe Afghanistan, my room mate said it was fun until he got buttraped by Russia, so I guess I'll have to make friends with Persia or something.

I bought Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Its crazy as hell, but its awesome.

I've been playing Mafia II on my shiny new rig(the old one went kaputt in May). Let me tell you it's absolutely amazing. Those of you who've played Mafia know what I'm talking about, but this one is even better in every single way. The controls and car handling are very smooth, the plot is more intense than in GTA 4 and the environment feels much more authentic. And there's no superfluous stuff in the game like mini-games, helicopters and girlfriends. Highly recommended.

I'm in chapter 10 right now, so the rest of the game could turn out to be horrible, who knows.

I didn't really like Mafia II. Too short for my liking + there was practically no Freeride (free roaming) at all.

It's very linear, offers very little choice or variety and it just... ends. When you expect a movie to end somewhere after 90 or 120 minutes, M2 (if it was a movie) just cuts corners straight and ends in 50 minutes. It's all sudden, no warnings and nothing you can do about it besides bitch on the internet.

It wouldn't have been that bad if half of the game play time wasn't spent on driving from one end of the town to the other. So not only is M2 incredibly short, but half of it is actually insanely boring.

You can't even hail a cab, although there are like 200 000 taxis in the city.

Its because you're a guido, not because of game mechanics.

Man, that's just racist. I'm calling you Dino Sinistro from now on. :D (actually that's not a bad mafioso name)

On the subject, I actually enjoyed driving around the countryside on Mafia I. On 2 (which I haven't (and probably won't thanks to Kashluk) played) what's then the point of having a sandbox if you can't go and explore it without being forced to?

Here's a link to the map (Empire Bay):
http://www.bigpapa.atw.hu/files/Mafia_I ... inatas.jpg

See those little symbols? There are eight (8) different symbols. There are several of each symbol on the map, but that doesn't matter, because each location under the symbol is completely or nearly identical to the rest of that same type.

That's how much there is to do, see and explore on the map. Most of the places don't really serve any function either, since there's practically nothing to do there (bars, burger joints, gas stations).

Mafia 2 is ok, but I'm frankly getting tired of all American greaseball inner city gangster shit, I got all that out of my system 10 years ago, thanks. Other than that I'm with VasikkA, probably one of the better sandbox games. Freeroaming between missions would be rather boring in a game like this so I'm kinda glad they were structured the way they are. All the driving around and listening on the radio about the war coming to an end adds a nice style to the atmosphere, time, and setting.

Starcraft 2 is the more addictive of the games I'm playing right now, I never got into the first one but I seem to be sucked right into this one. Dont think anymore needs to be said here.

Replaying GTA 4, just whacked Bucky Sligo, then went for some food with Dwayne. Gangster's gotta eat y'all.
