Night Watch is supposed to be very popular in Russia, Nival is making a game in the same setting I think.

I saw BrokeBack mountain about a week ago and it was pretty good, it was a better movie than Crash was by far. I think the only reason it didn't win was because of the controversy of it compared to just the plain old racism in Crash.

That High Tension blew. It was like ten dollars at Wal-Mart... what an overrated sack of shit. Ooh, cliche! But at least the bad guy was a dyke.

HA HA I just gave away the stupid plot! Oh wait... so does the DVD cover...

The trailer for Usual Suspects shows Kevin Spacey changing his walks, 'transforming' into Keyser Soze. It gives away the movie. I remebered the preview and I knew who it was from the start, not that it was really all that hard to figure out or anything...

I hate playing movie sleuth. I like to be guided along, no cle what's going to happen next. And I hate being hit over the head with stuff, like movie goers are retarded or twelve and the have to have everything expl--- oh, right.

Kinda reminds me of Oblivion.

Oblivion was the bestest PC/Console movie ever.

Yeah, I've pretty much cleaned out the Wal-Mart bargain bins of anything remotely watchable. Highlights:

Did see Stir of Echoes in there, but I already had it. My favorite Sixth Sense style movie, and Stir totally destroyed that N. Might Shlamamyayalanyayan shit but as I recall they came out around the same time and people though Stir was just a knockoff. Maybe it was, but anyways, good movie. Oh and those dumabsses over at Imdb are all gay and stupid. They recommend total shit like Jennifer8, which I hated because it sucked. But still, for either 5.50 or 7.50 it's still only slightly more expensive than a rental, so what the hell. Richard Gere is a total douche, but Mothman Prophesies or whatever it was called was actually kind of cool.

Meanwhile, outside the bargain bin: Silent Hill was actually pretty good, and I'm pretty biased against video game movies and anime shit, except for the Super Mario Brothers movie, which rocked. Lance Henrkisen was the Mushroom King in a ten-second cameo, which was also cool. In Mario I mean. I liked how SH wasn't beholden to those games, because that really makes a video game movie even worse than usual. Thank You For Smoking was pretty funny, especially the whole M.O.D. gag.

French Connecton is one of my favorite movies. I even liked FC2. But I love all that noirsy shit. Payback was another favorite, just a lot of classic one-liners and shoot-em-up fun.

Okay, I saw the Boondock Saints on its one night theaterical release and i'm still confused about one part. The hitman guy with the beard, was he the kids father or just another Irish guy? I know that their pray was a family tradition but I didn't see any other confirmation that he was their father. Also at the end I couldn't understand if one of the kids said Dad or what.

Holy jesus, are you fucking retarded?

Here's a quote, even though I don't think someone this stupid is fucking worth it.
Connor: How far are we going to take this, Da?
Il Duce: The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?

Look fuck shit, I couldn't understand their Irish accent thats why I was asking. It could of been plausible for him to be just another Irish freak.

Its good in a "Its so bad that its good" kind of way.

Patronizing, super-simplistic.

When I was 12 my parents wouldn't let me watch it until halfway through.

I had already read lots of books about this sort of thing.

I'd seen the Hiroshima medical pics, read the tech data, etc.

I could rattle off stats on strategic weapons from memory.

I was dissapointed when I saw that stupid movie.

They didn't even model the effects of EMP!!!!

I pointed this out when I was 12.

"How come the radios work? The EMP bombs ignited in the ionosphere/upper stratosphere would have zapped most of that stuff."

(Yes, they did do the ignition-failure thing, but that was weak.)

I actually got bored and went back to my room.

The Day After is an insult to intelligence.

Ignorant fucking sheep who were enlightened by it, who "reached a new level of awareness and concern", should be dragged off to camps and systematically starved, beaten , and humiliated (including anal dogfucking); followed by a merciful gassing and cremation.

Go ahead and watch it in order to gain insight into how obscenely sheeplike and stupid americans were in the 1980s.

They actually thought this shit was hardcore.
