Which Trait is better Gifted or Skilled?

Like Tactics? Found a cool mod for another game that reminds you of Fallout? Playing those crappy spin-off console games called "Fallout"? Discuss here.

Which Trait is better Gifted or Skilled?

Post by Dirk_889 »

I have my own opinion on the two. I think Gifted. I don't nessescarily think these two are very good to compair but I use gifted more often.

Guess it isn't really a soup question, is it?

skill points you can easily make up for - perks you can't

plus extra stat points are a very good thing

Skilled is so horrible I wouldn't take it even if I started out with 10000 caps! (or bos script or coins).

Fact of the matter is - Gifted equivalently gives you 7 extra stat points - that you can put towardsmaking yourself have some 10's or at least be eligable to recieve alot of perks.

The skill point loss you get... -5% per level and -10% to everything at beginning can be tolerated... a loss of perks cannot. Perks are LIFE! It's what seperates your character from civilians or plain ol' cannon fodder.

Yeah, gifted is better. Skilled is actually pretty good, though. It's better in FO 1&2, though, since you don't have team members to back you up in the skill department. I find lots of perks get somewhat redundant, anyway, so one every 4 levels doesn't really hurt me. I'd take a ghoul as my main character if I could, since I think a slower perk progression in exchange for 2 skill points and extra poison and rad resistance is more than worth it.

This isn't even a question... gifted is easily the best trait...
"Ooh, but you lose five skill points per level"
Then make a character with higher intelligence... you get 7 character points... put 3 of them in intelligence and you'll null the five points thing...
"But you lose all those points in the beginning of the game"
After a few levels, it won't even matter any more... plus your tag skills won't be effected all too much anyhow...
Though I would take Fear the Reaper over either if it was possible for a human character... perks every two levels... combined with Divine Favor... perks every level... ooh.... maybe if I use the editor... *mumble mumble*

He probably means using bosche, I use that sometimes as well.

Gifted all the way. Gifted and Fast Shot are my traits.

I'm with TR on this one...Gifted and Fast shot are my traits of choice as well.
Just take a fairly high intelligence if the loss of skillpoints bothers you..it will make up for it.

I meant the editor that came with the patch... just load up the right entity and you can edit one of those PCs that you can choose in the beginning... BOSCHE isn't needed if you can figure out how the Fallout Tactics editor works...
Plus when I tried using BOSCHE, my computer crashed... so I had to use alternative modes of character editing... and the thingy that came with the patch seemed to work all right... very hard to use when it comes to editing maps, though...

Not if you made maps for Unrel Tournament. Compared to that, its simple. But, it is quite hard to place all those tiles.

Yea, that Bosche thing crashed mine to!! I just got another, and for some reason, it worked. :?
