What is the best build that you ever did? In terms of fun, easiness and everything else that could make a build "the best".

Small guns, steal and lockpick for tags, gifted and fast shot as perks. Stats are:
Strength: 5 or 6
Perception: 10
Endurance: 5 or 6 (Either EN or ST 6)
Charisma: 3 (Mirrored shades in new reno boost it to 4)
Intelligance: 10
Luck: 2 (It dosen't need to be high..)

Or, a melee build is as above, except:
10 strength
4 perception
8 endurance.

so her name's Badsy, she's a charismatic diplomat, crtitically wielding small guns. She's a thief. Owing to her magnetic personality (Charisma at 10) she has quite many followers.

Her traits include finesse(critical chance), and she's quite gifted(meeting stat requirements for various perks). Her TAG skills are: speech, stealing, and small guns, which - combined with Perception and Agility at 8 and an array of perks - make her an apt sniper.

perk list:
level \ perk \ (goal)
3 comprehension (to get many skillpoints despite being Gifted)
6 more criticals (no comment needed)
9 better criticals
12 TAG! (lockpicking is a nice choice)
15 Karma beacon / gain ST (if guns are to heavy for ye)
18 more criticals / bonus Rate of Fire (which may lead to more criticals anyway)
21 more criticals / bonus Rate of Fire (one you didn't choose at 18 )
24 sniper!!! 8)
27 more criticals
30 negotiator / speaker / master thief
33 negotiator / speaker / master thief
36 Gain LUck (or another stat if needed)

How long did it took you to color this?

Well I always play same build, so it's pretty easy pick.

ST 7
PE 8
EN 4
CH 4
IN 10
AG 10
LK 4

Small guns, Speech, Unarmed
Gifted, Finesse.

yeah I know it looks fucking stupid. I was kinda bored at the time I wrote it.. And I got this wild idea to mark the three-fold nature of my PC. Anyway I copied it from another board so didn't have to create it just for this thread http://www.cinek.inten.pl/crossroads/fo ... .php?t=434

What's the deal with giving your pc a ST of more than five? That's points straight down the drain once you get power armor and brotherhood upgrades.

Maybe he's not a powergaming fucktard like you and me? Although sometimes when I make an Unarmed/Melee character, I take a high STR so I can start beating ass right away.

Now I get it... when? In Navarro, from the locker. That's like 4/5 of the game done already. Or more.
Hovewer, I think sometimes I took 8ST just to open doors in Vault 15(This is the place where I buy stuff for the second time, Combat Shotgun and Metal Armor Mk2. But then I noticed I could get it without all that stuff, so I'd take PE instead).
And I am a powrgamer...

Because, you don't get either unless you friggin munchkin down to SF first. Ohterwise you're going to be getting that stuff so late in the game you'll be spending alot of time going 'Damn.. Wish I could carry more stuff!' before it matters.

Carrying capacity has never been an issue with me, even though I also take the small frame trait. sulik can carry everything you need until you get the car.

Sulik stinks. I never take anyone else but Dogmeat.

We're obviously not talking about the same game.

Str-5 (don't carry much)
Perc- 8 (shooty)
End- 4 (doesn't much matter)
Char- 4 (also doesn't much matter)
Int - 8 (skill points and doing some stuff)
Ag- 6 (with fast shot can shoot a gun 2x per turn)
luck - 5

Fast Shot (I never use called shots anyway)
Good Natured (Disadvantages are easily overcome)

Small Arms (shooty)
Lockpick (exp and stuff to get, free lockpicks)
Speech (make up for low CH)

This is Fallout 1. Fallout 2 I would be very different.

Level 1: Max small arms (add science up to 40, so I can talk about crop rotation)
Level 2: Split between lockpick and speech
Level 3: Same
Level 4: All goes into traps
Level 5: Start working on science and repair for the rest of the game.

Usual perks:
Awareness
I pick various ones, usually Bonus Ranged Damage
I might tag energy weapons, if I feel like it
Bonus Rate of Fire + Action Boy lets me shoot 3 times

Does any build in Fallout 1 NOT use Fast Shot? 1 ap Super Sledge..

And I tend to get 10 strength off the bat, and I enjoy being able to take someone down with two or three hits (which happens in one round), then ripping their buddy a new one before they can get off more then 2 shots.

sounds fun. Do you get to talk much with this kind of character? I mean, what about your Intelligence, Charisma, and Speech?

for Fallout, something like this:

ST - 8-9
PE - 4-5
EN - 8-10
CH - 2-4
IN - 8-10
AG - 8-10
LU - 2-4

gifted and fast shot, usually.
tagged small guns, outdoorsman(because want to, that's why) and something esle, I usually just pop the last tag in somewhere.

Fallout 2:

ST - 10
PE - 4-6
EN - 10
CH - 2
IN - 2-3
AG - 10
LU - 4-6

gifted, fast shot, etc...

only finished Fallout2 once, and it was iwth a dumb char. every other Fallout2 game I played I got bored after a while...
