I think 2D will be the only way that FO3 will work. If it is put into 3D it will lose all it's familiarity.

I want to have 2d, maybe that engine Arcanum used. I also want the retro 50's feel, That was the only thing F02 missed .

Yeah, the Arcanum engine would be best suited to it.

I still haven't played the full game of Arcanum :( only the demo.

Arcanum's graphics are sub infinity- what are you talking about.
3d is the only way you can have sales, which in the mind of Interplay=FO4!

I think 2d for Fallout 3. I really just want it to be like another Fallout, and I don't care about effects. The appeal of Fallout is in gameplay, atmosphere and role-playing. You don't need 3d for any of that.

The only argument I'd back for 3D would be if they were making the game able to support imported elements, like characters and items. Then it wouldn't really be FO, though.

2d would be nice, but I'd prefer 3d for fallout 3

1.You don't need huge amounts of gig so you can have all the different sprites

2.uh...

3d for Fallout would not work. It is way too hard to get ranged weapons to work properly, taking Dungeon siege and NWN, ranged weapons never worked properly.

so we shouldnt do it in 3d because a dnd game couldnt do it properly? Freedom Force managed it fine.

I wouldnt mind if it was in 2d either, but if you want to add helmets and stuff that you can change round, or different models for guns it would need to go on about 2 DVDs

I don't care what format it's on, so long as it has a good story.

You could do it with the Morrowind engine. That might work. I dont know.

I'm in favor of 2d at the moment, but considering the time when Fallout 3 is released, it will most likely be 3d. I don't care if it's 2d or 'not 2d', as long as the content is good.

2D. All those who say "m3 want 3-dee becuz it is l33t" (I'm looking towards you, CBR) are deluded. 3D is baaaad. You'd probably need a GeForce4Ti 500 to run a game as complicated as Fallout in 3D, and even then, maybe at 30fps.

I'm a 3D graphics programmer. I know this stuff.
