Fallout only has three equipment slots: armor, hand 1, and hand 2. That's it. You could add more in a Fallout PnP game, but not in the games themsleves.

Hm, the only way you could actually accomplish that would be to give the inventory screen different armour slots like most D&D games have. But not like Morrowind has, that's just too pedantic.

Actually, the crit to the head scenario has happened. Anyone who reads the Fallout Bible (and if you don't, just what the hell are you doing at a Fallout fansite?) will remember that one of the Maxsons, the line of High Elders of the Brotherhood of Steel in the west, was killed by a poisoned spear thrown by a Viper raider during the BOS campaign against the Vipers. The Paladins had routed the raiders and Maxson, who was leading the attack, took his helmet off and was nicked by a spear. He died soon after. Of course, after that, Rhombus launched a massive campaign of extermination against the Vipers, so it wasn't much of a victory for the raiders...

all i was sayin was that it would be cool if you could play with no hemet and it would have no effect on your character it would be as if he/she never took the helmet off at all it would just have the appearence of wearing no helmet

A transparant helmet you say? No, that wouldnt be possible unless u modify the sprites for the power armor that is...which only a few people i know of might be capable of..

But who would want to get involved in combat with 7.62mm slugs passing you at mere a quarter of an inch, without wearing his solid steel helmet anyway?

The fact Barnakey has no helmet can be explained by either the consideration that he is a major dumbass....or, which is more likely...because as a high-commander within the Brotherhood ranks he will only wear a helmet for safety measures when outside of the bunker...

I say that it's because he's a dumbass... but maybe that's just me...
You can probably edit the entity of your character so that you use the same set of sprites as Barnaky and then up the character's natural defenses to the equivalent of Power Armo... but I'm not entirely sure whether or not it's got a full set of sprites (Death animations and whatnot) as it is considering that he's the only character that looks like that and he doesn't personally enter combat until he becomes big sissy robot, which probably uses another set of sprites... so I guess if ya wanted to see your guy without a helmet on, your best bet is with the Barnaky model... though, again, I'm not sure if it'll work correctly in the game...

look......there is some way to do it. Its just a matter of how hard it will be to do it, and if it'll fuck up the game.
