Finding Becky's still without bloodshed

I managed to gain access using a clumsy dynamite blast planted to a nearby guard and avoided combat, but it of course severely wounded the man and it doesn't always end happily.

Any suggestions on how to be diplomatic here?

Rest until late at night (Don't remember the exact time, so fuck off eh) and the guard will walk over to the craps table and talk to the dealer for a little while. Lockpick the door and go inside. E-Z LOL

What's the point of going down there?

The still quest requires it for non-charismatic character. (Can diplomats get the speach thread without going down there? I cant remember.)

You get the "quest" before you go down there... from either tubby or the other merchant (forgot)

It's a little dirty work you can do

What is the quest exactly? I've never gotten it before. How do you get the quest? Are you suppose to sabotage the still or something?

Yes, you can hire on to sabotage Becky's still once you've found it. First you have to buy whisky at Becky's, then you go to Fred's bar (the only one in the eastern map of the Den) and ask to buy a drink you should then have the option to ask why his whisky is so much more expensive.

If you'd like more information, I highly recommend Per Jorner's Nearly Ultimate Fallout 2 Walkthrough.

Cheers,

OTB

lol good work slave... I've never known about doing it late at night. I've always been perplexed about it because the only way I could figure out how to get in without hostiles attacking you is planting c-4 on a junkie, then pushing her towards the door (funny concept though ;))

Will do OTB.

Maybe planting C4 on Sulik would do the trick. He's pissing the PC off with his Jet addiction right now.

LOL good one... stand by the door, plant it on Sulik, then tell Sulik to leave your party. Head for the hills, and when the dust settles, have Sulik join you again, and waltz on down. Nobody dies, nobody gets mad, PC gets about 300 exp and maybe a free beer at The Hole.
