That and I'm slightly neurotic. I like lists. NEED TO MAKE MORE LISTS.

Actually, there's a lot I should be doing right now. Should, but won't.

Banz0red, by the way.

Oh, wait, no, can't do that...

La Haine was such a good movie.

I, having a Zen Buddhist outlook on movies, have no favorite films, I just buy and watch whatever movies I like. Lists are silly.

I would make a similar list, but there are just so many classic movies I haven't seen yet.

Edited because movie isn't a possessive noun, and thus requires no ' between the "e" and the "s".

half those movies suck.
Princess Bride is over rated along with every shitty 40-60 era movie.
fight club was also over rated.

The Godfather movies are retarded and boring. i could of spent the 6 hours i spent watching them sleeping.
Casablanca sucked and i never saw why people liked it.

most of sergio leone's westerns were pretty good though.

In my arsehole.

I do have the DVD, and I like the film, but...

This concept always struck me as somewhat silly. Why should it matter whether or not a movie is considered "classic"? Sure, you can go on other people's opinions to decide whether or not you want to watch it, but outside of that it should interest you.

That's interesting, half of you sucks too.

Why should the fact that these films are overrated influence my opinion?

You forgot overrated.

2. You're doing that on purpose.

3. Snatch and Lock Stock are ok.

4. This is DaC, you can get flamed for breathing. (see #1)

yes kharn, most of the movies on your list are overrated movies that dont deserve half the praise they are given.

That's interesting, half of you sucks too.
how absolutely juvenile of you wanker.

Yeees...And why should this effect my personal taste, again? I like what I like, and I don't what I don't, who cares if it's "an overrated movie"...

True, but I couldn't take myself seriously if I made a list of the greatest movies of all time without seeing the movies that just about everyone considers some of the best ever.

And I think your list is refreshing - quite a few of those movies I didn't expect on there. Fuck this "overrated" shit. Those are good movies.

This is DAC. Where have you been?

My personal faves are few, but I love them to death:

Crouching Tiger
Out of Sight
The Limey
Memento
Chicago
Kill Bill
Snatch
The Powerpuff Girls Movie
Breakdown

No harm done so far as I can see.

Just as "Anger is more effective than despair", hate is more effective than love. Thusly.

Rockage.

I still have to read Eco's Name of the Rose, I've been postponing it forever, it's like this huge gaping hole in my general education. Never seen the film either.

Also, you must be one of the first persons (the second, in fact) that I heard name Once Upon a Time in China as one of their favourites. The movie's such a classic, still love the opening scene.
Subhuman wrote:True, but I couldn't take myself seriously if I made a list of the greatest movies of all time without seeing the movies that just about everyone considers some of the best ever.
I see what you mean. I'm not sure if I'd call this list "greatest movies ever" list either. If that were through, Requiem for a Dream and Fight Club would be kicked way down, and films such as Citizen Kane and Seven Samurai pulled way up. It's more of a "what I like"-list.
Subhuman wrote:And I think your list is refreshing - quite a few of those movies I didn't expect on there.
Such as?

And I can not stress this enough; everyone should see the Long Good Friday. 't is so good.
