'Instant Death'?
Did your character have more than 77 HP when the guard bursted you for that much damage? If so, do you remember what the accompanying message said (i.e. 'You were critically hit for 77 HP and ...')? Or did you die because you had fewer than 77 HP before he bursted at you? If thats the case, then I d...

'Instant Death' Criticals
Just one small observation about fighting deathclaws: I noticed that when fighting deathclaws, even the lesser deathclaws, they never seem to die by an 'instant death' critical (i.e. creature was hit for damage less than its current HP, but 'unfortunately, his spine is clearly visible from the front...

New Reno & Vault City barter bugs?
I have noticed that in Vault City, once you become a Citizen, the Amenities shops actually increase their prices for you. Also in New Reno, if you become a Prize Fighter, the bartenders for each of the families increase their prices for you. They give you a further price increase if you become a Mad...

Function of "Cult of Personality"
Exactly what changes if your character chooses the Cult of Personality perk? According to the manual, "everybody likes your character." According to the perk's description from the character screen, "Your reputation is always positive to people." However, when I play the game wit...

Bugs or not bugs?
The inflated prices from Eldridge after sinking the Enclave is a bug that I have seen reported by many others on FO2 message boards. However, last time I asked Eldridge to upgrade my Desert Eagle by expanding its magazine, I got the upgrade for FREE! I do remember having delivered the laser pistol t...

Official FO2Mapper question: Changing the name of a critter
How would I change the name of one of the kids in Klamath to "Joe Schmoe"?
I tried by clicking on the kid, pressing 'E' for Edit, and clicking on the 'Name' button but I never get the chance to input a new name for the critter.

I would wait until after beating sinking the Oil Rig to kill
Eldridge is indeed a tough bargainer during the course of the game, but I can still manage to afford his stuff because I like to tag Barter or Gambling and run around the desert for random encounters of Press Gangs or Hubologists if I get low on stuff to trade (very rarely happens for me though). I ...

Changing the requirements for a perk
Suppose I wanted the 'Bonus Rate of Fire' Perk to be available to Level 6 characters with 10 Agility or the 'Educated' Perk at Level 3 through a MOD. What file in master.dat should I edit? Please note: I asked this question on NMA's Fallout 2 Modding Forum. As I still cannot access www.nma-fallout.c...

Geckos and Fire Geckos
You can loot silver Geckos and Golden Geckos, but you cannot loot Fire Geckos. By killing a Fire Gecko, you will raise your number of Gecko kills by one, as you would by killing a silver or Golden Gecko. Thus, I am thinking that a 'Lootability byte' might exist in the *.pro files. Or is lootability ...

Making critters lootable after killing them
Does a corresponding critter's *.pro file have a byte that determines whether the player can loot its dead corpse once it dies?
