...The appearance of the map contributes or detracts from to the players ability to become immersed in the game. I disagree. You can immerse yourself in Tetris, Checkers or any number of other games that are pure abstractions, and those of us that were playing games back when EGA graphics were the ...

I just worked out an alternate way of simulating a torch. Unfortunately, it only works for one person in it's current state, so I'll try to fix it first. EDIT: I suppose you could just make more than one torch entity, but here is how it works with just one. It creates a circle of light centred on th...

I was using 0. Is there any difference?xbow wrote:interesting quiet fanatic. what lighting condition are you using? I am working on a mission where the time is forced to -1 (total darkness) like the Ridick special encounter.
I plan on using deactivated entities to prevent all maps being for one use only.

I did make a mission where I jammed the mini-map and the players have to get a Motion Sensor and someone has to have it in one of their Active Item slots in order for the mini-map to function. I am planning on doing that as well. In my alien/space hulk rip-off mission I had the very scary set up of...

OK. MP is buggy. I worked out a way to give the illusion of allying against the computer. What I did was set up two human player indices (h1 and h2) on two different teams (squad1 and squad2). The NPC opponents are on team 8, and everyone hates each other (-10). Each person has to pick one player an...

So, where could I get a good, high definition world map?
Should I try to make weapons more balanced? If so, how?
Any requests?

I have a little more free time now, so I can start a campaign myself. I plan not to concentrate on the Brotherhood so much though. As it is early days, any suggestions would be appreciated. If anyone wants me to do something with their old maps that's good too, because I am not the best mapper in th...

You know I tried that but with -10 since most drugs give 10 addiction points, then -100, -1000 but it never occured to me to try -1. Hmm it only works with -1 not -2, -3 etc. Well done. I thought that the addiction stat would be an on/off thing, so I used -1. But, as far as I could see, it was actu...

I set up a consumable that is supposed to lower the consumer's Jet Addiction stat. I've tried all sorts of negative numbers, but it's no dice. The funny thing is that taking it while not being addicted to Jet actually addicted the character to it! The other problem is that you need some sort of way...

I have been experimenting with drugs as well today (in the editor), and I was wondering what is already known. Are the effects of the addiction apparent only after the period of primary effect has worn off? It seems so. I am hoping to design a drug which kills you if you don't have your daily dose. ...

What do you guy's think? The tiles I have are from Flamescreen, MV, SenorDeluxe, Ed the Monkey and WarBringer. Anyone got any objections, the original creators would get full credit of course. That sounds good. The more uniform and less hassle the better, although we would still have the problem of...
