A List of Computing Predictions
I, like many technophiles, maintain an interest in a lot of hardware and software developments. Recently, however, I've noted a proportion of technological developments which I am assured will become dead-ends. With that in mind, I'd like to present a list of my own computing predictions. - There wi...

I hate to have to say it, because like all of you, I've been looking for a true successor to the Fallout series, but St. Toxic seems to have hit the nail right on the head. Dialogue seems forced, voice acting is shit, style seems wrong on many different levels. Now, I'm hardly going to notice the gr...

I want to dual boot Ubuntu 7.10 but I don't know how. I have a live CD and an 80 gig partition waiting to be formatted. Tell me how dac. I'd say that it's actually easier to install using a standard non-live CD. However, if you want to persist, continue reading. Ubuntu appears to have a fairly stra...
Now I'm no expert at engines or anything, but what else would we need gasoline for that couldn't be powered by mass produced miniaturized nuclear technology or nuclear power plants? A lot of stuff that you wouldn't realise. Cosmetics, lubricants, medicines, plastics, etc. - all made from petroleum ...

Consoles for girls: Nintendo Wii Nintendo DS I'm going to add my own comment on this situation. Firstly, I'm going to start with the DS. DS vs. PSP is like Game Boy vs. Game Gear. We all know that the PSP has superior power. So why would you buy a DS? Simple. The DS has a much superior battery time...

VBS1 (Virtual Battlespace Systems 1) is a military derivative of Operation Flashpoint, with better graphics, a hell of a lot more supported units, an artillery module addon of professional proportions, 50x50km maps, a real-time editor, the ability to move around in vehicles - and a substantially gre...

Seriously, they should just release a cut-down VBS1 and be done with it - I don't think the U.S. Army would accept the sorts of glitches that have been a staple of OFP and ArmA. Hell, if I had $1,500 to spend (and a hell of a lot of rich friends), I'd buy VBS2 and probably have the multiplayer exper...

But if the US Army or some doorknob student game-makers want to knock themselves out making propaganda games that no-one will buy, let 'em at it and let the free market sort 'em out. That made me think of something. If the US Army were to use VBS2 (Virtual Battlespace Systems 2, a military simulato...

He won't believe anyone. His ex-girlfriend is a surgeon's assistant and told him that it isn't but apperently Times or Rolling Stone or some shit ran a review of the show and said that it's the best representation of an OR on tv so he's convinced come hell or highwater that that's how it really is....

Just a sentiment that I wish to state: I've never played Starcraft multiplayer, and I don't think that I'm going to soon. Why? The apparent ubiquity of rushes in the game. Just doesn't wash with me, because I tend to like to stress the use of a small number of elite units which would beat out a larg...

I guess, POOPERSCOOPER, that the best thing to do would probably be to try to hack one or two of the three shield generators, blast down the remaining shield with the fusion cannon, then disruptor 'nade SHODAN to obliteration. I know that avatar's a pain-in-the-ass, but if you can get one of those s...
