Hey, let's do that for all news, then. We'll put all the FOT news in one thread and keep editting it, and all the Fallout news in one thread and keep editting it.. We might as well jump lump Neocron, Devastion, Trash, and all the other post apocalyptic game news in to one thread, since they rarely get any comments at all..

YEAH, THAT'D BE SUPER, KILLIAN! GREAT THINKING, BUDDY!

You know you love it, you big, burly Basque!

While we're on the subject of adding to threads.. This was forwarded to me by a nice chap, which basically says that Fallout Enforcer isn't for Fallout fans.. DIG THIS!:
Chucky Cuevas wrote:Thanks for the well thought email. I appreciate your calm demeanor.

I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions, since you took the time to write such a clear, clean and concise letter to us, addressing an issue important to you. Please understand that this is not an attack, merely another viewpoint.

Do you know the size of the Fallout community? 5000 people? 10,000? How many people do you think are so tied to the Fallout Universe that they will shun everything bearing the name Fallout until they see a 3 next to the name? That being said, how many folks own a PlayStation 2 and have never heard of Fallout? Which one do you think is larger?

Do you know the expectations we have for this title? Do you know our plans? Perhaps this title is meant to bridge the gap between something much grander? Perhaps. Of course, every developer wishes their ame to sell millions, they would be lying if they said otherwise, but we know that is not always a possibility. Is there a chance that if the game sold 50,000 copies it would be a success? Perhaps. I, for one, am not privy to such details, and while I realize that the company has seen some hard times, it is in good hands now.

Moving forward with that, what do you classify as 'bombing'? You stated that the last 3 of our 5 titles had bombed. How can you be so sure? Is bombing not selling 800,000 units? If that is the case, then most of our titles have 'bombed.' Again I ask you, do you know the expectations we place on our games to consider them a success? Interplay Entertainment Corp. has been releasing games for the better part of 15 years, and perhaps one title can be marked as selling 800,000 units, that being done over a span of years, yet here we are, however tenuous, still making ames we think are fun. Unfortunately, that well selling game was not Fallout or Fallout 2.

Creatively, the Fallout Universe is a gem in the wasteland that is most games. That being said, we understand that it pains some fans to see a game they believe will dilute that glory. We respect your opinion, even cherish it, but to think that perhaps 10,000 people know what is best for the entire 2,000,000+ people that own PlayStation 2's is presumptuous.

Of course we hate to lose you as a fan, and yes, hate to lose your dollar at the counter, but we understand that not everything we do will be liked by our communities. If you see something that displeases you, pass it by and let another pick it up for a try. They may spark a whole new passionate community even if you and several others think a game ludicrous.

Thank you for taking the time to address something that is important to you, and thank you for reading my response.

Take care.
Interesting, eh?

So, you have..

PS/2 Action Gamer > Fallout Fan, therefore, we want to replace you with them as the new Fallout fandom.

Two questions:

1. Where does he get the 10,000 number??

2. What the hell is an "ame"?

I think the best part is where he says there's a lot of people out there who own a playstation and have never heard of Fallout. Which, frankly, begs the question, if their marketing division sucks so badly that they can't even get the name "Fallout" out to gamers after three titles, one released two years ago, why let these GEENYOUSES run amok with the franchise for the forth attempt at PH4T L3WT S4L3Z?

It's just simply amazing these guys are even allowed in a business.

He's pulling numbers out of his ass. There's got to be more than 10,000. Look at the FO3 petition.

Chuck favours the majority.... apparently anything small can just be squashed by a finger, and left alone. Go Chuck!

LEARN SOME FUCKING TERMINOLOGY, CHUCK!
when something "bombs" it "sux"
and not good sux, like a woman sucking dick
Chucky Cuevas wrote: however tenuous, still making ames we think are fun.
haha, just because YOU think games that you are making are fun, doesn't mean we think so.... we aren't Chuck now are we?
Chucky Cuevas wrote: We respect your opinion, even cherish it,
Hah, no you don't :P Otherwise this crappy fucking pitiful excuse for a fallout game wouldn't even be made...
Chucky Cuevas wrote: Of course we hate to lose you as a fan, and yes, hate to lose your dollar at the counter,
You just hate losing that "dollar", as for fans, "FUCK EM!" eh Chuck?

Anyways, that's my cents right there....
I hope Chuck enjoys playing with his pikachu running across the wasteland while people are lightly beat with inflated boxing gloves because anything else would be too violent

Oh, if anyone doesn't know, I used pikachu as a reference of Magic: The Gathering vs Pokemon, where Magic has character cutting themselves up, spewing blood, while pokemon characters don't even "die", they "faint"

which is probably what would happen to you in this fallout!

Actually, that email may have been from TechWiz, the GEENYOUS chap who's banning people from the IPLY forum for being negative about Fallout Enforcer, then giving the bullshit excuses as to why they're banned.

No, they weren't banned for what they said, they were banned for a more stupid reason totally not related to them decrying our flop2be! It's just a coincidence, yeah!

Bullshit like being banned for using an avatar of an Interplay "employee"?

I'd like to know his reason for banning Greg, which was done at the exact same time as mine. I don't even think Greg had an avatar.

EDIT: What do you want to bet Meatball, the guy spamming several threads calling the Fallout fans against this title f'ing imbeciles over and over wasn't banned?

I betcha there is more then 2.000.000 PC gamers then those stupid consoles. And just cause they only see a hardcore of 10.000 players doesnt mean this game is not gonna get sold. The masses await silently...

If you "bridge the gap between something" in shit, then the bridge won't exactly last long and anything created upon those shitty foundations are bound to sink along with it.

That whole "grander" thing scares the willies out of me... Right now I'm having visions of a multi-platform FOOL. Makes my head hurt...

But a Multiplatform FO3 would be just as scary... If at least they'd release it just for the console(s) then I can just dismiss it. If they'd make it also fot the PC this would mean the game was beant over bakwards to please the consoel community and then "ported" to the PC so you can play it. Say bu-bye to RPGing...

Don't worry about all that anyway, these are just my personal delusions.

That 2 million number is way off. I believe something like 30 million PS2s globally have been sold to consumers, and they've shipped 40 million +.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I remember several months ago there were supposed to be 25,000,000 purchased.

And to think.. Run Like Hell sold 23k. :D

What I don't understand is that if this game is not aimed at existing Fallout fans and so many PS2 & Xbox owners have never heard of Fallout, why did they bother to use the Fallout franchise at all? Surely their creative types could of come up with a new Post Apoc. setting, after all from what they've said about the game so far it doesn't sound a lot like Fallout to start with. Given that they believe the amount of Fallout fans is such a small percentage of the gaming community how will adding Fallout to a console title help sell any significant number of extra units? The amount of Fallout fans that will buy anything with Fallout in the title or will buy this game to finance Fallout 3 and actually own a console can't be enough to significantly affect the sales figures and it's not likely that this game will encourage console owners to go out and buy FO, FO2 & FOT.

Nor is it likely to create a larger fan base for when and if they decide to make FO3 because the fans of FOE and the fans of Fallout are not going to want the same type of game, unless Iplay are planning to ditch the rpg aspects of the Fallout franchise in all future Fallout games. *shudder*

Fucking imbecile. Because the numbers are larger means nothing. Considering just the Fallout community is wrong since there's a SHITLOAD more people that like the game. If Chucky McShithead did have a clue, he might have even seen that PCGamer once r ated it at #4 game of all time. PCGAMER!

Yes, this is the moron that is heading up the work on this game. Be afraid, people.
Do you know the expectations we have for this title? Do you know our plans? Perhaps this title is meant to bridge the gap between something much grander? Perhaps.
The same thing was said about Fallout Tactics. Look what happened. Oh, take a look at the developers already pissing on the setting. Good one, Chucky.

News flash, moron: The game isn't liked already by a number of console owners. It's ugly and doesn't promise anything worth their money that other games already haven't surpassed.

You're a moron, Chuck, if you believe that. It's good to see another idiot fell for Interplay's marketing babble. You're already assuming that people who own consoles, as a whole, would buy the game AS OPPOSED TO the substantial number who know of this game for the PC and know what it represents.

It's more than 10k, retard.

Now working on Fallout: New Undermountain!

They promise to spend only a year on this title - only a year less than the original Descent to Undermountain!

I'm assuming it's to make a profit for the company, so some people can feed their families.

But hey, maybe that's just part of the goal.
