Well, even the name of the game is obviously an easter egg to a post-nuclear attack phenomen known as "fallout".

the concept of post apocayptic survival is hardly a new story, elements of the first 2 games is lifted from mad max, omega man and most other 'dealing with the end world films'

The only real difference is that in fallout 2 they were blatant with their pop culture references, everyone draws on their experiences of film and tv when being creative (if it can even be called that). nothign wrong with an easter egg or two but they need to leave it your imagination. thats why to some extent i dislike the fallout bibles, they try too hard to fill the blanks. from a fans p.o.v our imagination equals their and as p.o.v of someone interested in a fallout3 , they are writing themselves into a corner.

I checked it out, the title was "In the Line Of Fire"(not duty). 1993 movie also starring John Malkovich and Rene Russo. I'm sure of it this time. Clint Eastwood as Frank Horrigan-United States Secret Service.

Another easter egg for you: The leader of the Wright family in Reno is Orville Wright. He was one of the Wright brothers who built the first plane(Or whatever).

The dude at the Frisco BOS(I think it's him) base says the Enclave are a Paramilitary organisation, but they are part of the us government and they made the vaults.

ok. my belief was always that (yes what you already said) the Enclave is the remains of the US Army. but they formed theyrselfes and evolved to a paramilitary organization. i don't know but they're controlled by the President (who we love) and from another high command or thing like that!

so they pulled to the rig after the bomb was dropped.
the president and the others were burried in a vault or bunker (might be military base (the foreign) )
or so.
after the apocalÃƒÆ’Ã‚Âpse they went to the rig.
