Fallout 2 Patch (UK Version)

Post by Killzig »

[ -> N/A]

Odin@NMA has posted a nifty little patch for those of you out there running the UK version of Fallout 2.

Small fix in the Enclave computer terminal

Grisham will no longer call Balthas Balthus (Or Balthos, I can't quite remember.)

A fix in Badger's dialogue

Tubby will now tell you about Redding

Marge will no longer say that Dan supports the NCR

Some small fixes in President Richardson's dialogue

Vault City gate guard will now call Marcus a mutant and Lenny a ghoul.

Sounds useful enough, you can grab the patch right HERE (Right Click, Save As -- 3MB). This patch was produced by a nice fellow named Locutus. I'll repeat it one last time this patch is for the UK VERSION OF FALLOUT 2. K THX BYE.

So where's the North American patch? While I'm here, maybe we could have some kind of database of ongoing FO Editor projects?

Or a small database of bugs that can be fixed using the editor, and then make one, big, fan-made patch.

Yeah I thought of making that myself, using a bugtracker...

But then I relaised that a lot of the bugs are subject to interpretation...

For example, one could fix V13 so that you can get the Ghoul ending... but do you really want that?

The same thing could be said of Gecko.

All in all, I figured I might as well spend some time on something else... Specially since other people are "working" on fixed anyhow :P

Wait--Vault 13 ghoul ending? Elaborate, please.

And even if some people don't like a given ending, that's irrelevant. The endings are there to be possiblilities, choices. People can still get the deadclaws ending if they want.

Er, oops, I mean Deathclaw... While I was writing about vault13, I was also thinking of Gecko, thus the slip.

As for endings, well, they aren't in the game... So the choice really isn't yours now is it? By adding it you're just adding a possiblitie which isn't even consistant with the Fallout universe, so why even bother?

You know the VC guards and their ghoul/mutant thing? How come none of them ever complained about Goris in your party? I mean, the dude's a Deathclaw!

Yup. He just looks like an exceptionally large human with a hump. Just like a super mutant.

Wait a minute...
