Ride The Pine
<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>
<a href=http://www.nma-fallout.com" target=_blank>Odin@NMA</a> aka The Sexy Beast has once again posted a nifty fan made mod, this one allows you to ride the Vertibird. I haven't tried it out yet but I'm assuming it lets you use the vertibird like you would the highwayman. This from the man himself, <A href="http://fieldglory.narod.ru/" target=_blank>Baster</a>.
<blockquote>
This MOD gives you the ability to fly a vertibird. You have to find one first, of course. You can use it as you want during the game.
Brief list of changes:
- The creation of the Vertibird hull itself to the like of the car. Functionality is slightly and deliberately simplified (Many could not believe that this would work at all);
- A new quest and a couple of absolutely new and fresh NPCs, preserving the universe integrity, of course. Multiple paths for completing the quest including force variant, despite the fact that I'm not a supporter of this kind of game play;
- Two new NPCs in Navarro and one in Broken Hills. You hijack the 'bird from Navarro :-);
- It was rumored that you can reach the Enclave using a Vertibird. My official statement - it's all lies. But if someone does 2 .mve movies then it is possible to add such a feature. It wasn't included because of the unbalancing of the game and lack of before mentioned animations.
Note: Please play the MOD and don't dig into the scripts, to figure out how to get the Vertibird Inca. You'll spoil the pleasure otherwise. </blockquote>
Now there are two version of this file.
<li> Use <a href="http://www.duckandcover.net/fallout2/mo ... p">Fame</a>(right click, save as) to install this version...<A href="/fallout2/files/vertibirdd.zip">Click Here (right click, save as).</a> **Recommended.
<li>Or manually install <a href="/fallout2/files/vertibirde.rar">this version (right click, save as)</a>.
This looks pretty rad, I wonder what happens the first time you land in Broken Hills with this baby.

whoa - thanks for reminding me, Vice City PC will be released in a month tomorrow. Hot damn. thanks...
well I suppose it's good to see another nifty little mod, and I've always wanted to fly an aeroplane... though I can imagine the annoyance given by bumping into random encounters with rats and such.

I suppose if I dress up in Advanced Power Armour and fly it to Ghecko, I can pretend to be the team that's been sent to wipe it out.Killzig wrote:This looks pretty rad, I wonder what happens the first time you land in Broken Hills with this baby.
