Post by Mad Max RW »

<html><body><P>A new car combat game was <A HREF=http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/road ... 25293.html target=_blank>announced</A> the other day and is expected to appear on all major consoles this fall. Midway&#8217;s &#8220;Roadkill&#8221; takes place in a post apocalyptic world where the player fights evil gangs across 30 missions set in 3 different environments: Lava Falls, Blister Canyon, and Paradise City. Here&#8217;s the first batch of screenshots:</P><blockquote><center><A HREF=http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/road ... tml?page=3 target=_blank><img src=http://www.duckandcover.net/madmaxrw/roadkill1a.jpg></A> <A HREF=http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/road ... tml?page=2 target=_blank><img src=http://www.duckandcover.net/madmaxrw/roadkill2a.jpg></A> <A HREF=http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/road ... tml?page=1 target=_blank><img src=http://www.duckandcover.net/madmaxrw/ro ... e><P>Looks like a cross between Carmageddon and Vigilante 8. You can read all about it at <A HREF=http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/road ... 25293.html target=_blank>Gamespot</A>. Also, I could have sworn there was a <A HREF=http://www.planetunreal.com/roadkill/ target=_blank>mod</A> called Roadkill.</P></body></html>

I tell ya, this doesn't look half as good as Carmaggedon 3:TDR200 which came out back in 2000.

Don't worry, I have no plans on regularly covering console-only games let alone something that looks and sounds so incredibly shallow.

I say any and all console games (special stuff like FOBOS aside) be ignored for DAC news purposes.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

hehe, that's the first thing I suggested when FOBOS was announced :P I'll admit it's kinda dumb ignoring things completely, but regular coverage isn't necessary.

Kinda weird people have such a hard time getting stttings... I mean the whole Car Wars/Dark Future idea is an awesome one... And the closest thing to it *in quality anyway) is I'76.

At least Carmageddon was loads of brainless fun. So was Carmageddon 2 once you applied the blood patch. Didn't like 2K.

But well, this seems a mix of carmageddon but without the pedestrians (well, zombies in this case...). Or, without the only fun part it brought.

No, I like knowing about post-apocalyptic stuff that is coming out. Good tip-off, MMRW.

If DAC didn't report news that Killy and Saint didn't like... well... FUCK! What would we have left to report? We'd have about 14 months of silence, apart from the occasional Interplay stock report.

I'm all for STALKER and post-apoc mod news. but console games can go take a running jump in the lake.

I checked out the Midway site and apparently one of the cars is the V8 Interceptor.

this game would have been cooler if it had strived to be a GTA3:Road Warrior type game instead of a twisted metal knock off. how about GTA:Baghdad!?

I started working on something like that for GTA3 but every bit of work you release to the public is stolen. Made a bunch of skins, some new models, cars, and other stuff and the few things I put up were stolen and renamed about a dozen times. The GTA3 community is the worst. They even steal shit from other communities. I can't tell ya how many times work from the Carmageddon community was ripped off.

lol, the GTA community live by their name.

I was thinking of doing it for GTA Vice City that way I can have bikes, but I'm no modder so basically this is just a plan and it's very unlikely that it will be put into action.

The only modding I've done is with Fallout and Morrowind
