Fallout Enforcer site launch!
[Game -> Update]
Just when you thought the trailer was hideously bad, the official Fallout Enforcer site has launched.

From the story section:

But a smaller sub-section of the mutant army did remain together, under the command of a visionary lieutenant named Attis. Highly intelligent and vindictive towards the Brotherhood, Attis took his group into hiding, searching for clues regarding the history of the FEV virus. Learning about a secret Vault-Tec installation with new and possibly improved versions of the FEV virus, Attis led his group to the area where the rumors started, the ruined city of Los. His ultimate goal, of course, is the continuation of The Master's plan - to rebuild the mutant vats and eventually transform the entire human race into mutants.

Uh? What the hell? Why would Vault-Tec, an independent corporation contracted to the government to make civilian vaults, have the highly secret FEV virus? How could there possibly be new and improved versions when Mariposa was where the FEV virus was being worked on after it was moved from West Tech?

From the developer diary:

Oh-oh. Wait a minute. What about those fans who want a Fallout 3! But what about those fans who would love to see the Fallout universe expand? Better yet, what about all those gamers who have heard of Fallout, but turn based RPGs aren't their bag? I want them to see what a cool universe Fallout is. I want them to experience the Brotherhood, the wasteland, and the 1950s sci-fi culture gone haywire. I want them to to see what the 1930s World of Tomorrow looks like after World War 3. Oh yeah, this could be great!

Then perhaps you should see how cool the universe of Fallout is for yourself first, TEAM CHUCK. After all, judging by everything you've coughed up so far, the only thing the new information shows is you don't have a clue about it.

While I'm at it, I find it rather idiotic to expect people who have only heard of Fallout to buy the game just because it's not a turn based CRPG. If you had a clue, you'd know that a better idea might be to make a game for the existing fanbase, the one that's been on pins and needles for five years, the sure-sells, and then work from there. Ignoring the old fan base in hopes for a new one to buy the game is abso-freaking-lutely retarded from a marketting stand point.

Thanks to Briosafreak of NMA for the heads up.

Re: Fallout Enforcer site launch!
I have to agree. I didn't play Fallout for ages, even though it looked like the type of game I would enjoy, partly because several people I know had given the impression it was dull, and partly because it was one of those things that I had and that got buried under loads of other stuff I bought. Anyway, I played it last year and loved it. Even if I hadn't played it and enjoyed it so much, I still wouldn't want to play FO:BOS, since it just really doesn't look very good at all...I don't quite see how they can justify it by saying they want to open the Fallout universe up to other non RPG gamers. FO:BOS looks shallow as hell, and bears no resemblance to FO......so, in truth they appear to just be making a console action game and slapping the Fallout name on it for promotional purposes.Saint_Proverbius wrote: While I'm at it, I find it rather idiotic to expect people who have only heard of Fallout to buy the game just because it's not a turn based CRPG. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but I don't imagine that this game will do particularly well....

calling a GRENADE a bomb is bad. FS TY Chuckie you big BIG twat!
the deathclaw looks nothing like any of the other fallout deathclaws, the ghouls are enemies??? The mutants look retarded...well thats accurate but still. The main charactors look stupid, and the brotherhood armour is nowhere to be seen. it gets worse with each pasing day, i couldnt look at any more after those few screens...
like i've said in GD ... I sincerely hope a really great game comes out on the launch date of FBOS.

Why can't we just stick with the originals?
You're right! I thought about it too. The deathclaw looks exactly like the fiend. That was one cool monster, well that's good inspiration actually, IF it was intended...Saint_Proverbius wrote:I think I know the inspiration for Fallout Enforcer's look. CLICK HERE

Wait, yes. That cant make it any... Oh what the hell?
In the picture displayed on the TV screen thing when you first enter the main site with the woman looking around the corner there is a small gun in her hand. After a few minutes of blatant assumptions and accusations I have come to the conclusion that that is in fact the six barreled revolver as portrayed as a game peice in the board game Clue. I can only say that this is one of the most stupid combinations I can possibly conceive. I can see the tag line on the box: In Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel you join the mysterious group of eccentric characters that make up the BOS to solve the most mysterious mystery of the wastes, WHO KILLED MR. BODEY. The box would then proceed with lines like: "Non-existant 1950's themes!" "Shitty graphics that would disgrace the N64!" "More booty for your looting!: Spend your pay on any of the Brotherhood's fine selection of huge breasted, thong clad, STD infected dominatrix/paladin/hookers!" and finally "Now with 100% more crappy attempts to make money for a dead company by monopalizing off of a popular line in the crappiest way possible!" I cant wait for Interplay to fuck me up the ass in an attempt to get my money HOORAY!
woah, blast from the past. Quake, however, has a much better story than FOBOS.Saint_Proverbius wrote:I think I know the inspiration for Fallout Enforcer's look. CLICK HERE

Sigh. The quality of that site sucks, they butchered Fallout judging from the weapons and armor! For instance, they call the PS2 a "computer entertainment system", while the Xbox is a "video game system"... whoever wrote that info for that site is really bad at PR, and totally uncreative. It's like a 9th grader wrote the stuff for the plot and people... it's so bad.

console only? swell guy...

They can keep it exclusively on the consoles all I care - I just want a true Fallout 3 RPG made.

These guys never even played Fallout or read the Fallout bible I'm assuming...
The BOS was not an elite force "whose mission is to maintain peace"... In Fallout and Fallout 2 they were guardians of technology, and totally kept quiet and to themselves. They were all about preserving technology.
This game will fail simply because they are ignoring thier fan-base. This will sell like shit and then there will never be a Fallout 3 for PC.
Sad, but true.

And god look at the site... That girl in the tube top... Yeah that looks like she's really having a tough time surviving in a post-nuclear world...
She managed to develop a sense of fashion in a nuclear wasteland? *rolls eyes*
They even changed the backstory of Fallout to suit their needs....
God the more I dig around in that site the more disappointed I become. They show a guy in "power armor" that looks like a damn football uniform...
Oh what could have been...

This makes me want to fire up Fallout 2 again if I thought I could get it to run on XP - and find the damn CD.
