I personally don't believe we'll ever see a Fallout 3 or even a halfway decent spinoff. That's why I suggested we focus more energy onto games with a chance. There's other better stuff to fall back on rather than every single stupid thing Interplay does.
Someone had the idea of making a banner that links to a page with all the reasons why FOBOS is bullshit. I think it's a good idea, but could backfire and turn out as free advertising for an otherwise crappy game. People who are regulars at other sites can put it in their signature or whatever and maybe spread the word outside this community. Attacking Interplay from an area they can't reach seems to be working. I say let's take advantage of it.
I don't know if anything I said makes any sense. Just woke up a few minutes ago

I just noticed, when you go to the fobos site and hover your cursor over the "Enter the flash site" button, in the status bar appears javascript:opensayskraziSaint_Proverbius wrote:I was sent a reply by KraziKatt on the IPLY forum on the subject of Fallout fans lately. So, naturally, I emailed her, since I thought it needed replying to since I really didn't care much for the reply.
Krazi as in Krazikatt? Did she build the website?
I think that's pretty much a given. How many worthwhile original Fallout heads are still there at Interplay? None? The only stake Inters have left in the franchise is the Fallout license itself. Which, as amply demonstrated by our mate Chuck, boils down to little more than a few logos and the rights to the storyline - savagely butchered or no.PP666 wrote:And I'm also afraid a decent fallout sequal won't be produced at Interplay.
So the probable/most hopeful scenario is that Enforcer bombs taking Interplay with it. Hopefully, whoever walks away from the wreckage with the license will sell it for a low, low price in order to pay for a few weeks at some scabby, roach-infested motel.
Didn't Tim Cain mention on that forum interview he did a while back that Troika had sniffed around and offer to buy up the license from Interplay? Could be good...
Yes, but IPLY declined so they could skullfuck off another spin-off, none of the morons at IPLY (especially Chuck) having learned anything from Fallout Tactics.Stevie D wrote: Didn't Tim Cain mention on that forum interview he did a while back that Troika had sniffed around and offer to buy up the license from Interplay? Obsidian:
Now working on Fallout: New Undermountain!
They promise to spend only a year on this title - only a year less than the original Descent to Undermountain!

Sure, but lets say that Enforcer bombs as above (and that's a fairly safe bet) isn't there a chance Troika could make another bid? If IPlay get their fingers burned by this project, they might well decide to wring the last few pennies of the license by selling it, before washing their hands of it.Rosh wrote:Yes, but IPLY declined so they could skullfuck off another spin-off, none of the morons at IPLY (especially Chuck) having learned anything from Fallout Tactics.
Don't know about that but the other button says "Get The The Flash Player"axelgreese wrote:I just noticed, when you go to the fobos site and hover your cursor over the "Enter the flash site" button, in the status bar appears javascript:opensayskrazi

No, actaully the "Get the Flash Player button" is hotlinked to a DL page for macromedia flash player (but there is no "Get The The Flash Player" button )Lasse wrote:Don't know about that but the other button says "Get The The Flash Player"

Tim Cain mentioned in the Adrenaline Vault forum chat thingie that they had tried to buy FO, but IPLY refused, and Tim Cain has recently claimed to be enthousiastic about making FO3 and probably would, given the chance.
And just about the last person at IPLY to do any design on Fallout 1 was Feargus, and we all know what happened there.

Common sense and good development were lessons unlearned from Fallout Tactics.Stevie D wrote: Sure, but lets say that Enforcer bombs as above (and that's a fairly safe bet) isn't there a chance Troika could make another bid? Do you think they'll suddenly grow a clue after the second time?
Sorry, Caen, Chuck, and the rest in charge are far too stupid for that.

I don't know. I'm thinking Fallout Enforcer is starting to look like a big liability for Interplay. So far they've gotten lots and lots of nothing good out of making Fallout Enforcer. They're getting pounded in printed mags, for example. There's a lot of consumers angry about this judging by the reactions on various forums and message boards.
Given that BIS isn't having a good day either because of Interplay's poor management, I can see them selling the license rights to someone else after this is all said and done, especially if this game bombs.
