Just finished Fallout first time (I can be sometimes terrible late, but I feel really sorry for being late for 5 years to enjoy this masterpiece).
.223 pistol is just irresistable but just alone it is a bit too weak for endgame. It also seems to give slightly higher chance for criticals, but it may be also just my wishful thinking. I paired it with (plasma)granades for keeping bulk of mutants away. Sniper rifle is aslo good thing to keep nearby.

I'd say the double-barrelled shotgun if it ever had an option to let go both barrells at once, but it doesn't.
.223 pistol of unholy loudness is really, really fun to use. Rocket launcher is expensive in almost every sense that matters in Fallout, but oh so much fun. Ditto with a flamer.

In fallout the shotgun has single, aimed single, and reload. No double shot.Lynxer wrote:huh, it does actually. This is Gonna Hurt wrote:I'd say the double-barrelled shotgun if it ever had an option to let go both barrells at once, but it doesn't.

10mm
I preferred the 10mm pistol, aimed shot to the eyes with a high chance of criticals...no I am lying, the Turbo Plasma Rifle was my weapon of choice. The flamer was cool, but turned DOGMEAT into ROASTMEAT one too many times.

So far in my current game...
Hunting Rifle and Shotgun are my weapons of choice.
Hunting Rifle for distance and Shotgun for closeup.
I'm in the Hub with 600,000 some caps, so i'll probably get my beautiful Sniper Rifle and .233 Pistola.
(How was Gizmo's games fixed? He lost a ton of money from me.)
Don't tag barter, just tag gambling (or work it up a little) and get a nice paperweight for keys 1 and 4. Off to the roulette tables!
