Jesus christ have really became so self absorbed over this?
Why make it our life mission to get this banned? It doesn't matter anymore man, Fallout is dead get over it. I'm sure a lot of us have better things to do with our time. This is one short of a protest man, just drop it already. Fallout has said it's piece and gone, may it rest in peace. I frankly no longer care what happens to it. I hated fallout tactics, but didn't whine about it. It does not achieve anything. They are now just in it for profit and thus do not give a shit what we think or say, so fuck em. Boycott interplay if you want they no longer make any decent games anyway.
At least we still have fallout one and two

I guess you're not as devoted to Fallout as most.
Fallout's hardly dead. If IPLY dies, then perhaps the license will be sold - and Fallout 3 can be made.
Fallout's name shouldn't be tainted with this shit.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

That's been said so many times it's almost a cliche. Where does all the faith in Troika come from? They made one OK game that didn't exactly take off. Now they're working on a D&D fantasy game to add to the already bloated market and somekinda vampire first person shooter. If I was insanely optimistic both games will be huge successes and Troika will use the money to buy the Fallout licence to make the sequel we always wanted.Ghetto Goose wrote: hopefully to troika...
The most realistic scenario is Interplay will sell the license to Microsoft or Sony. That may sound crazy now, but a 3d console-only Fallout sounded pretty crazy a few months ago.

Hmm... This is making me wonder wether they're aiming for Enforcer to go on the Console explicitly to sell the license to one of the big bidders, as everyone is jumping the console bandwagon lately and the license would thus have greater value with a console release under it's belt...
Course with crappy sales it won't help much...

This is an interesting quote from Herve Caen on xbox.ign.com about the sale of Hunter:Red wrote:Hmm... - "Our focus has been on improving our balance sheet and steering the company toward highly profitable content." Said Interplay Chairman and CEO Herve Caen. "What we have done with the Hunter franchise highlights many of Interplay's strengths: the ability to secure a license, create an acclaimed game franchise from scratch, then leverage that asset to fund future development of the company's core products like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, the recently announced Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, Icewind Dale, and several other soon-to-be-announced properties."

Such a scenario, with Troika and TimC back controlling Fallout, would certainly make things better. Microsoft or Sony would only make things worse - FOBOS2? Or a crappy Microsoft FO MMORPG?the reason we say "hopefully to troika" is because of the original fallout maker guys there. I trust TC, and I hope fobos won't be popular enough to catch the eye of Microsoft or Sony.

Of course they wouldn't get it right. Name ONE well-done MMORPG. That's right, you can't, because they're all terrible. End of story.Zetura Dracos wrote:You know if they did it right I wouldnt mind a Fallout MMORPG. Of course they probably wouldnt get it right.

hey
I kinda like the idea of MMORPGs, but they always end up as experience mills. Hopefully one day a developer can change that.

No. FOOL is a terrible idea. The whole purpose of a MMORPG is to interact with others & apparently kill lots of beasties for points & loot. One of the focuses of Fallout is being the lone hero/antihero & that would be impossible under the MMORPG umbrella. No thanks.

Not necessarily, people could play innkeepers, farmers, addicts, gangers, bartenders, right-hand men, etc. but equipment would have to be very restricted and this would probably be very unbalanced and not work out.
I still think a FO MMORPG would be a bad idea.
