Fallout 3, soon to be released......

Discuss the game that started it all, and its sequel. Technical questions and issues go into the Fallout Technical Support forum, not here.

Why do you think they released the editors in the first place? They want to change direction for future FO's, much like Mprose did for XCom.
Well, the Fallout Editor were pretty much assembled by MCA, one of the devs who cares about the Fallout community. I suppose it was a nice gesture, probably as consolidation for those disillusioned by Fallout BOS. Something good will come of it, probably. And we all know that MCA is a nice guy. It's likely that FO3 is a no-go, so Interplay is giving it to the fans. Hell, there's probably some way they could capitalize off of it.
I'm already making a Fallout Editor'd version of my Fallout PNP campaign (check website), and quite a few others I know are also toggling around with it.

No it wasn't. MCA just took credit for it. JE Sawyer was at the core of the Fallout Editor project.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Well MCA's still a good guy. So's JE. But the reasons behind the project, I think, remain the same...

we say that Fallout 3 will be announced and let´s say it have tha F2 and F1 looks but have slightly better graphics, it´s great right?
But as Spyder´s reply said about the language and the f-words and alike, i´ve got a nice theory in how you could solve the problem.
They can put an "raw language"-option with parental lock at the preferences screen....

Raw language (except when used sparingly, like in FO1) is certainly not '50s. Also all the damn bugs would need to be removed. I like complete, fully immersive, non buggy games.

Yes, and one fine example on a buggy game is our dearest Fallout 2

Too right. I suspect whoever came up with the invisible car in the last Bond flick got the idea off Fallout2 and that bloody Highwayman...

Well it is in the hands of the people now. Fallout 3 can be made greater and less buggier than FO2... Damn, so many friggin' bugs.

I firmly believe that project Van Buren is, indeed, Fallout 3.

a) Welcome Sammael.

b) Sooner or later we will found out if Van Buren is indeed FO3 or not. At the moment we (we who dont have insider info anyway)know nothing exept that FO3 isnt in production.

And I firmly believe that it isn't - certainly, it's not bloody likely. FOBOS2 seems like a more probable occurence.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Why don't you e-mail one of the BIS developers and ask them if Van Buren is FOBOS2? Or IWD3? Or anything other than FO3?

I have every reason to believe that what I stated previously is correct.

the same could be said for Jefferson before it turned out to be FOPoS. Really, my opinion of IPLY, BIS, and the prospect of FO3 has really plummeted ever since FOPoS was announced.

I believe I read somewhere that BIS is indeed going to make FO3. No details were given, nor was it officially announced, but it was definitely going to be made.

Not bloody likely; at least not in the immediate future. How many times has this been said before, hmmmmm?
