Keys in Junktown

Post by OnTheBounce »

There is a set of keys for sale by Killian. What use are these?

I thought that perhaps they would be for Killian's safe or for the jail, but the haven't worked on either one of them.

BTW, I found something left undone at the Library in the Boneyard. No, I'm not referring to the broken quest there. Rather, Nicole mentioned that the history of the Followers of the Apocalypse was available in one of the bookcases, and I've seen any transcript of it on any FO fansite. Oh well, FO certainly beats its successor in the finished department... :P

" Rapatessa roiskuu ", when you do something as huge, as fine and as complex as Fallout-games, there's always a wide margin for errors :)

I'd say it's even cooler there are some items with no use. I mean it's totally realistic, do you use everything you find in real life? Lighters and other stuff only add climate to the world of Fallout, maybe Killian has a footlocker with pr0n under his bed and that's what the keys are for.

It could be that the keys were put in Killian's inventory just to have something junky sitting around for you to grab "just in case" and/or to run around tearing your hair out over.

The Lighters and other "useless" items do have a use, though: bartering. I always grab lighters since they are worth $100 and have no weight. This is usually a concern for my characters since I almost never play characters w/ST higher than 5 so I have to think twice before picking up junk. The Dusty Box and Box of Noodles have the same use, but have the disadvantage of not being weightless.

True. As for the keys, they are indded useless. I tried them on every door in the game (yes, I had a looooot of time that summer I made my site!) and they are useless. Absolutely and utterly useless!

Thanks, Tank.

Too bad I couldn't just fire up the mapper and check it out. (Although it's much harder to check these things in FO/FO2 than in FoT...)

Keys, keys, keys!!

It's the keychain item you're talking about, right? I seem to remember being able to use it as a container for keys, like the backpacks and bags in the game. You know, you can drag keys into it to help "arrange" your inventory.
