Which Deathclaw to recruit?

which deathclaw should i get? ive basically narrowed it down between mother and kldraav, though if you think a different one is best than by all means say so and plz tell why...but people keep telling me kldraav is good, but i played mother in another game and she was awesome...though i never played any other deathclaws so many i just didnt know what i was missing =]
so...which one is better and WHAT IS YOUR REASONING? thanks in advance.

I dont like deathclaws... 'Mother' seems good, doesn't she? Well, i'll have to leave it to the Death Claw experts.

deathclaws are no good in FOT ... they die too quickly (a case of terrible armor) and aren't as intimidating as the F1/F2 ones. A couple of shotgun shots and they're on the floor in pieces.

As for the deathclaws, if you observe their stats carefully, you'll notice that every one has it's own purpose. Generally dcs are the best sneakers (i think they get some additional bonus to their.. ehm silence since even if it doesn't sneak it's quite hard to spot for enemies.) The best sneaker is certainly Shaav. Looking for an effective crippler? - choose Kldrav. Mary is the bigest one but with a gifted trait, she's quite dumb. Shriek is.. hmm.. nothing interesting.

I think that Mary has the best predispositions. However you'll need to exchange one of her traits (the one that makes her cause less damage) into kamikaze or finese. Kldrav would be also good choice but he also should have one of his traits exhanged (i don't know how are their english names because i've got polish version of the game - it's this one that doesn't allow you to use chems on it)

Anyway, generally the best hth fighters are robots, no doubt about it.

I've always liked Shaav to be my grenadier, driver, and mule

I never really liked Mother because of her 8 AP -- that's way too low for a DC, and I never used her enough to get her Mutate

yea they can use throw and unarmed. And melee weapons if I'm not mistaken.

deathclaws can also wear power fists, but not sure about melee weapons

she does much more damage though on average so i guess it really doesn't matter - and when you get the slayer perk.....

Mother i like the best, she can get stuff like BHtHa, that really helps, with her ultra high health(i gave her lifegiver) and high AP and ST she makes an excellent packhorse, she had almost constant attacks with shred costing 2AP. She's not useful in the SM missions but some Reaver and Robot missions if on Psycho or a steady stream of stims and Trauma packs she can pack a wallop. Give her Buffout to increase her HtH damage.

I found Deathclaws to be awesome in multiplayer, if they were made correctly. You just gave them lots of sneaking stuff, and tried to get them have the fastest attacks (I made an awesome dog, that would kill other people bc his attack only cost 2 AP), but I would still have aimed shot, and then if you aim at the arms you could break the guns. That was awesome, except if the enemy had a flame pistol. Then you were in some trouble.

I remember in the short period that I did play FOT online that I made a really nice dog that used 2 power fists aimed at different arms, so then when I saw the enemy's Jackhammer dissapear, I would just switch weapon slots and break the other arm. I was going to make a DC, but someone told me it would suck and shortly after I just stoped playing for other reasons.

Burst attacks completely demolish DC's because of their low AC, too. Pointless.
