I was playing my characther with 4 or 5 luck and ran across an encounter I've never seen before. I was on my way from the Brotherhood to the Boneyard and came across a guy named Trent. He had the same sprite as Ian and his dialouge was that he was a caravan gaurd for the water merchants but they got attacked by a deathclaw. You can demand he gives you his supplies and he'll give you a Desert Eagle and some ammo. Anyone ever got this before?
Speaking of weird encounters, has anyone gotten the "Ripper Salesman" encounter in FO2?
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
You come up to a guy and he reads from a card, giving a long Ripper sales pitch. You can then buy Rippers from him (he's got about six or seven). He's well guarded also.

yeah, that's the one. I remember getting it above Modoc also... seems like that place's a haven for odd merchants.
It's an interesting encounter, though pretty much useless. I like the idea of a travelling ripper salesman.

Why didn't you copy your savegames? That's a pretty good solution in similar situations.
Because I didn't have the time and I was frustrated. I was down to about 30mb free and could barely open up My Computer because of the RAM destruction. Had to get rid of it all and quick so I could free up some more space to free up some more space, ya dig?
