The Adrenaline Vault Talks S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Post by Mad Max RW »

<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>

<A HREF=http://www.avault.com/articles/getartic ... ker&page=1 target=_blank>Avault</A> managed to grab Oleg Yavorsky, GSC Game World&#8217;s PR guy, and ask some questions about <A HREF=http://www.stalker-game.com/ target=_blank>S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Oblivion Lost</A>. They cover just about everything, from multiplayer to singleplayer, the X-Ray engine, and more. Also, we can now refer to it as a <I>survival-action RPG</I>. Here&#8217;s a bit on the cooperative and singleplayer game:</P><blockquote><em><B>How does the single-player game differ from the multiplayer cooperative mode?</B>

The multiplayer cooperative mode is very much like the single-player game, just with more than one human player living in the Zone.

<B>What features make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. a unique single-player experience?</B>

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. offers a captivating experience for those who prefer multiplayer action, although we've placed a greater emphasis on the single-player campaign. Expect an intriguing and blood-chilling story, a tremendous amount of interactivity with the game world, stockpiles of different weapons, vehicles to drive, mind-blowing photorealistic graphics, complete freedom of movement, devious artificial intelligence, vicious monsters and smart NPCs. This is only a partial list.</em></blockquote><P>The rest is right over <A HREF=http://www.avault.com/articles/getartic ... =1>here</A>. Thanks to Silver for the tip.</P></body></html>

Multiplayer coop? STALKER > Halo PC.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I Halo still planned for the PC (or even out for all I know...)

Nowadays it seems a rather non-special game on the PC...

I'd like to see how dedicated co-op servers would work. Maybe setup somekinda MMORPG type thing.

Hey wow! More people saw STALKER than FO:BOS at E3!

I can see that happening... it would be awesome too! It has kind of happened with NWN, and its a lot of fun. I found a Lord of the Rings server for NWN, and I'm totally hooked... its not totally persistant, but its close. (the server resets every so often). A Co-op FPS in a persistant world would be even cooler... cant wait!

It's good that they still have the emphasis on single-play. Co-op seems like an interesting way to play the game, let's hope it makes it to the release.

Not necessarily, that just means FOBOS crew was too lazy/ashamed to represent their game.
