RPGDot talks to J.E. Sawyer

Post by Ausir »

<strong>[ -> Interview]</strong>

<a target=_blank href=http://www.rpgdot.com>RPGDot</a> has posted an interview with J.E. Sawyer from <a target=_blank href=http://www.blackisle.com>Black Isle</a>. Here's the most interesting part:
<br>
<br><ul><i><b>RPGDot: If you could do any game, regardless of money and developing time, what would it be? </b>
<br>
<br>J.E. Sawyer: An adventure game based off of Norton Juster's Phantom Tollbooth children's book. I'd also like to make a rules-light Delta Green RPG, a light-future Earth adventure/RPG with strong art deco and art nouveau visual themes, and a pre-Fallout "Resource Wars" game set in collapsing Europe (during the U.K.'s invasions of the Middle East).
<br></ul></i>
<br>
<br>I hope that he'll bring us a decent Fallout 3 too! You can read rest of the interview <a target=_blank href=http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsactio ... 07>here</a>.

That would be interesting. Art deco :)
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Yeah but he sets his in the UK which would be even worse, everyone would talk like Dick Van Cyke from Marry Poppins and would constantly say "oooooooh Betty!"

setting it in the UK would kinda defeat the point of using a retro 50's america franchise though wouldn't it?

Sounds like he wants to use Fallout but avoid negative feedback when setting details or whatever are changed. In other words, some kind of legitimate FO:BOS?

As I said over at RPGCodex:

That was an interview? It's not like you couldn't go onto the BIS forums or Interplay forums and ask the same utterly inane questions.

I call it an astounding waste of everyone's time, especially anyone misfortunate enough to read it or bother loading up the page.

I want my three minutes back, goddamnit.

Well, I admit most of that was reloading the page to try and hope the rest of the interview would show up in case it was a loading error, but no such luck. It truly did suck that much ass.

Hehe...and you know, I honestly expected more from that site, rather, not knowing anything about them, I assumed, being rpg fans, that maybe the questions would be a tad more interesting rather than...well you know, its just too embarassing to repeat.
