Question About Modoc Johny Quest

I have arrived at Modoc, but I cannot get the Johny quest. Whenever I see Balthas, only options I get are to trade or ask him about the Garden of Eden Kit. Is there any particular reason why this might be happening?

don't know for sure but, off the top of my head, it might be:

1) speech skill
2) karma
3) if you're a slaver

However, I think, iirc, you might have to talk to his wife first. Then bring it up with him... kinda hazy on that though, I could be wrong...

You need to have an Intelligence and Perception of 6 or higher, you also need to have a decent reputation in Modoc. If you're missing this, try getting the BB gun from the well and then show it to Balthas, not sure if this works though.

Thanks for the info axelgreese and VasikkA. I do have good karma, but my speech leaves a lot to be desired and my perception is a 5. I'll give the bb gun a try though.

You can raise perception by using drugs(jet, mentats). There is no speech check for getting this quest.

did you talk to johny and say that you knew his dad Balthas? if not, i dont think your Char is really aware of the need to tell him, you cant just mouse over johny. maybe talk to vagar too (whoever the slags leader is)
