I'm having a problem with the Sniper Rifle

I'm trying to have my character use the Sniper Rifle but for some reason I can't use it. The icon for the rife is gery and when I try to use it in combat the targeting icon has an X in it.

i think that one of your arms is crippled, to cure this use doctor on yourself

Are you sure it's loaded? Normally you get an x instead of a chance to hit if you're out of ammo.

No my left arm is crippled.

Can someone help me jog my memory? It's been about 5 years since I've played this game. I can't remember which doctor can cure crippled limbs. I'm still at the start of the game, just got to Junktown, and Doc Morbid can't cure it. Neither can the Doctor in Shady Sands (I can't remember his name).

just use your doctor skill in your skilldex ( i think the hotkey is 6?) well just keep usin it till it fixs your arm

i never invested in doctor skill, it was used too little, and you needed too many points in it to have it very successful. it may take a few tries, but you should be able to heal yourself.

iirc theres a doctors bag in shady sands, that or at the hub. (one that you dont have to buy that is)
