Can't find Vault 13.

I can't find vault 13. I am playing an int 3 character. I talked to saltbeef and went to the doc but when I talk to him he tells me to go to saltbeef for the map. I went to vault 15 but I dont have enough science skill. Any help?

if you get the job with westin to find out what's been getting his cattle, and high enough outdoorsman skill, you can find v13. you just need to follow the "cattle theives" back to v13

There's a bunch of ways to find it. You said most of them, but I think there might be one more. Maybe not.

Solution: use some Mentats.

When you see the deathclaws awlking off screen, leave the area the same way. I think that's when the game rolls outdoorsman.

I think I never put points into outdoorsman... So it's mainly a matter of a given roll.

i only got that to work once, and i cant figure it out again. the way the go is towards a large pile of rocks, and even with a significantly high outdoorsman skill, i never got the chance to follow them.

btw, are all the ways of finding v13 the same exp? or does one of them have a greater reward?

No luck so far. Wasn't ables to follow them after about five tries so I gave up. I then went back to Westin and he told me about the vault dweller and to go east or something. But I'm guessing thats to Vault 15.

Where would I use the Mentats?

get the science books from the sad, read them then go to v15. Use the mentats then use the computer and BAM!

what level are you by the way? I usually had most useful stuff at 100% around then.

lol i can't get the SAD quest...

I have 2% science and I am level 9 right now...EXP is hard to get since there is so little quests for me to do. And I just killed all the mob families in New Reno so I can get tribal ending there.

I'll try to find some more science books.

You get the same xp, because you get it only when entering the vault.
But you can also get more xp if you stop the brahmin raids.

But you can get those book in a lot of places... Check Vault city, I think you can buy some books there.

How much science would you need to operate the Vault 15 computers?

Right now I have 2% science after reading a few books.

You're better off with the mentats. Your Int. mods the amount of skill points you get from books and what not, and yours being so low, it's not even worth it to read them.

Talk to Lenny in the bar in NCR. Talk to the guy (can't remember his name) and fight Lenny. Kill Lenny. Get the job off the guy. Do the job. Come back. Ask him if he knows where V13 is. Buy the holodisk. Upload it. Go to new location on map.
