Super Mutants suck!!!

Like Tactics? Found a cool mod for another game that reminds you of Fallout? Playing those crappy spin-off console games called "Fallout"? Discuss here.

Are Muties better than humans?

Not Sure/could be either

Super Mutants suck!!!

Post by Sc0pE »

What is it with super mutants...
they suck... so why do people like them so much?
here is a few reasons why i think they suck...
1. they run so slow
2. they have little AG and PE and should have practically no IN!
3. they can't wear power armour or any normal armour
4. in multi they cost too many points
5. they are sterile
6. they are such a big target
7. all they are good for is big guns but they will still get blown to bits by a human couterpart wearing super power armour 5 ST +4

All that i am trying to say is that muties suck and that they don't have any real advantages over humans and don't have any good perks that humans can substitute with something else!
Muties can't do anything that humans can't do.

Feel free to reply and contradict me, i would like to see what you have to say...

sure, some may argue that muties may have more HP, this may be true, but with the damage dealt out in later game battles it's practically useless coz their BARE skin gets blown away. sore may also claim that "oh, but er... muties rock in hand to hand and melee" DAMMIT st00pid PPL!!!!!! DEATHCLAWS ROCK a mutie in hth combat, and are naturally tougher so choose them instead! DEATHCLAWS AND h00mies RULE DA WASTES!!!!

YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They generally have a better overall damage resistance.
In case of human characters this is being compensated later on by the highly advanced armors available.

Apart from this humans outweigh they mutated counterparts in ways of intelligence and Agility witch i think are two of the most important stats.

Third of all the fact they are ham fisted gives them a major disadvantage. They can't use any small guns witch imo are better then big guns.

Yeah, but you can't find it anywhere, not in chests, nor on corpses, not even on the quartermaster. The only place to get mutie armour is to recruit muties who have armour and take it from them.

There are files out there that enable you to play as any race that can be played in multiplayer but in singleplayer. I have it and I believe Stainless does as well.

Actually Muties have their advantages is you get a mutant with fast shot, bonus rate of fire, and steady arm it will only take 2 action points for them to fire a burst weapons like a Vindicator for example. :D

I wasn't reffering to that mod. I sent that mod to NMA for your information. The thing that me and Stainless have also lets you play as a dog and all the other races but the dog is not avaliable in the one I sent to NMA.

yes that is true slider
but if you get a human in powered armour and having the bonus rate of fire perk, and fast shot trait it only takes them 4 AP.
i belive With the armour advantage they would kick ass. :)

also correct me if i am incorrect but dosen't a burst take 6 AP, thus minus 3 AP for the traits and perks you have, it would take 3 AP to fire a burst???.... :? :?:

i don't know about other people, but i prefer single aimed shots to the eyes... they can blind (and instant kill), do lots more damage than the average shot, and save alot more ammo and weight.

(if you have the perk sniper they do a critical based on luck)

also shooting from a longer range is more effective with single shot rather than burst. (i think)

it also takes you further away from your enemies, reducing thier chance to hit you, which in turn should reduce the amount of damage you take...

it will, though require a rather large amount of skill points on your gun stats... you will require a high IN but it's worth it...

To tell you the truth I have no idea how it only takes only 2 AP to shoot. I just used the editor to start with a character with fast shot, bonus rate of fire, and steady arm and it uses 2 AP for burst(for shotguns it takes 3 for some reason) all I know is that I like playing as a mutie or having a couple in my team once the Vat Skin trait has been changed.

still you are using a superchar wich does make it a biased example to use...
perhaps you put one of the AP reducing perks on more than once??

Nope I didn't put one of the perks/traits on twice or else I would have said so. :P

I think the reason why super mutants are not sucky is that a human has to be wearing power armour to be better than them, and as power armour is usually as rare as hens teeth it means that most humans would be whooped by those hulks.

Yes fez, you are correct, super mutants could have run over everything if it wasn´t for the power armor. there are only smal factions that can actually fight the mutants. the brorherhood is one(if they use power armor)

And the brotherhood are loosers
Signatures are for loosers

I just love that line....

In a toe-to-toe fight, you're correct that humans would need APA to survive and win. However, humans are smarter and can plant mines, stage ambushes and snipe from long range; meaning humans working as a team can take on and defeat single and small groups (2-3) of Super Mutants without taking a single hit or requiring APA to survive.

I wouldn't expect experienced troops who have survived SM attacks in just metal armour to suddenly start rushing up to dangerous enemies such as SMs/robots just because they've managed to get some APA out of the BoS Quarter Master at long last! IMO, APA is more vital in FO1/2 where all enemies seem to come rushing at you regardless of your armour/weapons that it is in FO:T where you can equip and deploy your squad to take on physically superior enemies and win.

Super Mutants

What is it with mutiehaters! That's racism! Ahem. Sorry. Anyway. I really like muties, single and multiplayer I try to be multiracial, including at least ghouls and muties. And muties look cool, especially the char portraits.

I am a staunch believer in 'spirit of the game'. Just because you can create an ultimate squad of humans armed to the teeth and unbeatable does not mean you have to. it is more fun and challenging to use muties, and they look cool. LOOK COOL! COO-OO-OOL! Power armour looks really generic in comparison. And...muties get Psychotic perk! Incredibly useful if you can get a reliable dealer :D

I can understand why people would want to create a team of humans, maybe the odd ghoul for perception, but c'mon, just because you Don't play them and, it's true, muties have some big disadvantages, doesn't mean they suck. And they look COO...I think you get my gist.
