Soldiers of Anarchy Follow-up To Be Announced

Post by Mad Max RW »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

<html><body><P>It sounds like Silver Style Entertainment, the developers of the recent 3D RTS <A HREF=http://www.soldiers-of-anarchy.com/ target=_blank>Soldiers of Anarchy</A>, are busy at work on another post apocalyptic style game. Lead designer Carsten Strehse <A HREF=http://www.soldiers-of-anarchy.com/e/fo ... php?t=1114 target=_blank>answers some questions</A> concerning their soon to be announced title:</P><blockquote><em>Will this game take place in the same world setting as SOA? (in the future)
<br>
<br>Future yes, same time no. The setting is more far away in the future, but mankind was thrown backwards for hundreds of years because of a catastrophe. The scenario mixes modern and even some futuristic technique and weapons with a very poor lifestyle. No electricity, nearly nothing to eat but rats and insects and incredible storms on the earth's surface, which had already blown away the most biggest towns in the US. The world the player is living in is more dangerous than the one of SOA. People are living in enclaves with palisades made out of cars, trucks or tires. They have flamethrowers on their roofs and barwire around their houses. Everybody tries to protect himself against the brutality going on.
<br>
<br>> How about a developer site where we can track the progress?
<br>
<br>The site will be online at the end of this summer.
<br>
<br>> Any idea of a timeline for release?
<br>
<br>Q1 2004
<br>
<br>> You stated it would be somewhat squad based?
<br>
<br>Yes. Expect complex battles with squad tactics.
<br>
<br>> Will you be able to build/maintain your own palisade? This is exciting
<br>
<br>No. It's no RTS or something</em></blockquote><P>Interesting stuff. There’s more info in <A HREF=http://www.soldiers-of-anarchy.com/e/fo ... php?t=1114 target=_blank>this forum post</A>. Thanks to Darwin_187 for the tip.</P></body></html>

Unfortunately, my computer for some reason can't run SoA.

How is it?

Flamethrowers on the roof. How very Mad Max. I know post-apocalyptic genre owes a lot to that movie, but can't you be original just for once?

Personally, it's absolutly awesome. Although it does have it's fair share of bugs :(

The next game is ment to be more infantry orrinantated, with vechiles player a lesser roll, unlike SoA where it was the other way around.

I FINALLY found SOA last night after posting that news. Ever since it was released not one store near me (EB, Gamestop, whatever) had the game on their shelves. Anyway, I ordered it for a rather cheap $20.

I played the demos and thought it was fun, but too hard without the ability to pause and give orders. Thankfully the patch adds this feature.
