That and the story included in the Fallout 2 manual. However, that only included the very vague outline of the Fallout story and didn't really specifiy any of the Vault Dweller's actions. However, there are numerous instances in Fallout 2 wherein the Vault Dweller is described as being a righteous, upstanding sort of guy.
Actually, I was refering to the story in the FO2 manual as the mini-walkthrough. I guess I should have specified, but I was thinking within the context of the FO2 manual story when I wrote that. As for the other issue, that's one of the things I disliked about FO2. The game shouldn't have been as much of a direct sequel.
Well, Fallout 2 had to continue somewhere, even if you played Fallout differently than in FO 2 manual. There were different endings in Fallout, for example joining the mutant army would have given a totally different story in Fallout 2, where you could encounter mutants in only a few occasions. But a sequel can't use all endings as a starting point. As far as I'm concerned, I consider the 'mini-walkthrough' in Fallout 2 manual as the official story. Unless MCA decides to make up another one in FOB.
Or, Fallout 2 could have used the original storyline desgined by The Troika Trio & Co. instead of the current one.Spazmo wrote:Well, Fallout 2 could have been just another story of the Wasteland. It didn't necessarily have to relate to the peoples, places, and events of Fallout 1. However, since everyone liked those peoples, places, and events so much, it just made sense to make a direct sequel.
Yes it was different, but we don't know much details about it(just that some locations were similar to the original design, like the Den and Vault City). The original storyline for most parts went down the toilet when Mr. Cain left BIS in early development stages of Fallout 2.Pastorius wrote:Which one was that? Was it different from the current one?

Well, it'd really help if they'd place it in the other end of the country at a later date. Since that part was hit harder, the rerise of civilisation would happen later there and we'd only getv a few references to FO1 and FO2 in the form of rumours that've travelled the wastes for decades.

TPR
I do like the TPR, but I think for pure "lets mince these fuckers legs" it has to be the Plasma Minigun.
The sound of it sends terror down my spine. It chops people IN HALF and on the odd occasion you get 150 HP points of damage from the daddy.
Ho yeah!
