Hubogolist giving luck?

I read that the Hubo in NCR would give you luck by doing the Zeta scan.

+2 was it? Didn't work for me, I lost 1 luck for the darn thing!

What is the deal there? I'd sure could use that extra luck, but after several tries, all I got was my lucked lowered by 1.

As far as i know its just random.
Keep trying and you'll eventually get the +2 luck. Some how i allwasy seem to get it first time.......

I think you have to be nice to him to get the +2 LK, otherwise he fucks you over with a -1 penalty. Skullfucking Communist!!!

i thought you could get one from the hubo in san fran too? i got +1 luck and +1 intelligence from the one in san fran, never got anything from the one in ncr...

Ah, revenge... But regarding the penalty I mean somthing along the lines of being less liked in San Fran, or maybe people having a reaction modifier?

I just never got the Zeta scan because it means you joined the Huboholist dudes and I hate being labeled.

If you have higher than 6 luck then you'll always get the -1 modifier. 6 or less in the original stat and BAM you got the +2. Simple, really.

I've also heard the your LK rating affect the outcome of the scan. I had played it several times with 6 LK, and got +2 everytime, never -1.

I don't think having the zeta-scan means officially joinied the hubologist, at least you don't have any privilege in returm. They may call you AHS-sth, but that doesn't bother me if I can have the +2 LK.

In my last game, I took the zeta scan and got a -1. I then reloaded and asked him everything I could before that, resulting in +2.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, though.
