What about the other ... factions?
i really don't kno where this thread would fit, so i put it here.
What the hell happened to the robot city, and those reavers? are they going to appear? would a story based on the robots be an interesting idea? and something about the reavers?
in the FO PnP i read about the Guardians... who are they?

I would think that all of FO T would be ignored completely just for spite! atleast thats how I feel... no reavers, no beastlords. and even so didn't FO:T happen between FO1 and 2?
KillaKilla's logic:
FOT and FO: BOS weren't FO at all!........... 1. I am nobody
DOGMEAT is God. Never dispute this!........ 2. Nobody is perfect
Up and coming hardware nerd.................. 3. Hence I am perfect

*FOT doesn't exist. I don't want to see any of it in Fallout 3... maybe an insulting easter egg, that's all.
*Guardians, Desert Rangers, and those cultist people (forget their names?) are from Wasteland. Officially, Wasteland is separate from the Fallout universe, so the two couldn't combine. Though some of the Wasteland factions would be interesting.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
well... ok, no factions from FO:T, but adding some more societies, factions or whatever would be welcome, i don't kno.
uhm... beastlords are a good idea (r they from wasteland?)

The edition of the Guardians wouldn't harm fallout if they are adjusted accordling, like a smaller branch of the BOs, though not related to the BOS.
As for the Desert Rangers, why the hell not? I mean, NCR only enforces law within their borders, what about the man women and men like Tycho who went about doing their job by protecting the innocent?

Say what you will about FO:T, but at least its developers had the common sense to realize that if they were going to be diverging from 'canon' fallout, they at least set their story up involving a 'different' brotherhood that wouldn't necessarily act like their west coast counterparts. The FOBOS devs should have taken note of that instead of trying to shoehorn a game in where it didn't belong.
evil will always triumph because good is dumb
Yes, true. I wouldn't mind if the devs completely deviated from everything in FOT - throw most factions established by Fallouts 1 and 2 out the window - so long as the new story was good, original, and didn't make it groan. Too bad they failed miserably

there should be at least one large faction added to F3. but this faction should be in one part of the map and only effect the immediate towns around it. and not be all into other large faction's affairs. (mostly to avoid that one large group vs. the evil one or whatnot) this would especially make the world map cooler, knowing that certain towns are influenced in different ways by different groups. so they could be more or less racist against muties, etc..
yeah, i mean, there should be more things, more factions, groups or whatever.
and lesser factions or groups of people u kno, the emerging kind, or just rebels against VC, or NCR, or groups of villagers (alliances between villages, there could be trade alliances)

axltrauts, i hate you. i hate your ideas. Your concept for FO3 is essentially "yeah there shuld be more stuffs cuz its so cool! more everything"
what ever happened to the good old days of vault 13.net forums?

hello, if your fallout idea starts with "Wouldn't it be cool", then i hate you, and i am very saddened by the fact that technology has not advanced to the point where you can reach out and touch other users, because i would strangle you.
FOBOS sucks, d00d.Strapon2 wrote:i fully agree. thanks for saying this.NumberZero wrote:axltrauts, i hate you. i hate your ideas. Your concept for FO3 is essentially "yeah there shuld be more stuffs cuz its so cool! more everything"
go play FOBOS, d00d.
i'm not saying cause it'll be cool... i'm saying cause a sequel must have something to be interesting, not just the same old things, don't ya think? sure, the first and the second games were great, but don't u think they can do something better? maybe, with so much thought, a plot about a rising faction or whatever can be interesting. Or should i supose the only things in the FO world are the current ones, and nothing new can appear? come on.
damn, D&D was completely screwed cause those WoTC fucks added more things, STUPID NEW things and made it more commercial, i hated it, so u don't come and say what i'm not saying ok?
hey, if a new plot can come out without adding more shit and it's excellent, so be it. I just gave an opinion, i'm not the kind of person that thinks "better the old known than the newer to be known". so if u are that kind of person, good for u. I wonder, then, what's the reason of this forum... i don't think just to praise FO1 & 2 and no more than that.
and please, don't hate me, i'm just a nice guy
but, as u wanna read more new ideas, please go to the PnP Feedback forums, u r welcome there.

This may sound obvious, but I think the factions from FO1 or FO2, like the NCR or BoS, should only be included in Fallout 3 if the location is appropriate for them to exist. I doubt that the NCR would have influence in, say, Michigan or Florida. On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind seeing new camps of Tribals or poor towns like Junktown or Klamath again, since I think places like those would be pretty common in a post-Apcalypse United States.

I agree with the above, though I think tribals were so poorly implimented, they should probably be dropped.Dramuck wrote:This may sound obvious, but I think the factions from FO1 or FO2, like the NCR or BoS, should only be included in Fallout 3 if the location is appropriate for them to exist. Naw, I see the sequel as an opportunity to redress old mistakes and poorly implemented ideas. Like King Arthur and his knights abruptly appearing in Fallout 2, that shouldn’t have existed as anything other than a silly idea in the designer’s head. But that's just my opinion, etc., etc.I think tribals were so poorly implimented, they should probably be dropped.

Tribals were a bit strange in FO2. Do the sterotypical tribals in FO2 have any reference in pulp serials? Did 50's view of post-nuclear world include communities reverting back to tribal societies? It didn't make sense that the whole community adopted high-level shamanism and lived so isolated from technology with a town full of guns so close by. Primative farming communities would probably arise but they would be more like Shady Sands in terms of limited weapons and population (maybe without the buildings and walls).
