1) I was browsing through some various Fo2 shite and discovered this:
Merk who hangs out in the back room of the bar between 16.10 and 08.00 is the man with the plan around here. If you want information, you'll have to pay $50 before you even get to ask anything. If you ask about the G.E.C.K. he doesn't know anything, and if you ask him about Vault 13 he tries to sell you a Vault 13 Holodisk for $1000. Using this disk puts Vault 13 on your map - only once you get there it's just a cave with some construction signs, and when you leave it reads "Fake Vault 13" on your world map. Complaining with Merk helps little, but you can steal the money back. Fun but useless. Instead ask Merk for work. Now you have to prove yourself to him (don't tell him you're a "badass mofo" or he may not talk to you again):
Is there really such a place?
2) Another one:
If you let Badger hack the Shi computer, then if you wait a week or so and go to the tanker you will eventually see a cutscene in which he is executed by two Shi guards. No big deal since you have no further use for him, and if you have the quest to kill Badger you can now report back to the AHS-7.
True or false? Does anyone have screenshots of this cutscene?
where did you find this info? i dont think its true, mostly because it would have been found by now, either by players or .dat explorers. hmmm, i have talked to merk nearly everytime i have played and never got this option. neither did i get the badger scene, and i usually got the fuel from him.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
What you do is ask Merk in NCR about V13, he'll offer to sell you a holodisk with its location for $1000. It adds the "fake vault 13" location to your map.

where is it actually? on the map, and are there any items there? (even if they are worthless)
is it like: 2 squares northwest of the real v13 or something like that?

There are no items there. There's just a big sign that says "Vault 13 - Under Construction" or something like that. The location is maybe 8 squares northwest of NCR.

I've gotten #1 a a few times before (and ended up killing Merk, because I'm evil like that), but I've never gotten #2. I guess I'll have to play the game again.

if you played FO1 you would immediately know it was fake the second you stepped out of ncr... i wonder if he took the time to set up this fake vault13 just for $1000.
Good point, but I should have looked over my response before posting it; I didn’t mean to imply that I haven’t played FO1, just that I enjoy killing bad guys like Merk. And by that point in the game, losing $1000 doesn’t mean much to my hero.
I think Merk would be the kind of guy to have a fake vault set up so he could pawn expensive false maps to unsuspecting travelers (or to self-righteous Chosen Ones who don't already know where Vault 13 is, though the player controlling her knows).
Cheers.

Yea... thats one thing that i hate about a second run through an RPG, you know the info but you dont know the info.
is that one picture that was/is up at NMA (top right) the fake vault? it has a construction sign, but theres lenette and stuff, so it may be all made up. (it may be the fake vault, but those people were definately added in)
That pic's a fake, obviously, but the cave / construction sign is as is. If you want, go into demo recording mode, browse around, and check it out.
