Hmm, cigarettes abnd cigars... Yeah, thatw ould be cool.

And for music theme for Fallout 3 I am think Neil Armstrong's Its a wonderufl world

It would capture that feel. More monsters and a deeper plot.

Louis Armstrong, Rama, Neil was the Astronaut :). Music wise my vote goes to Blue Skies sung by Sinatra.

As for the Fallout having Western influences, of course it does, because pulp Sci-Fi was heavily influence by Westerns. Just as Westerns were influenced by eariler hero myths. Most adventure stories have the same elements whether your talking about some Ancient Greek Hero, a medieval knight errant, a few wandering Samurai, Pirates, the classic lonesome cowboy hero or some spacemen. The settings change but the themes stay the same. Take any old black & white Western Adventure serial replace the horses with rocket ships, the six guns with ray guns, the Stetsons with ridged helmets (with lighting bolts or wings over the ears) and you'd have a Buck Rodgers or Flash Gordon clone.

Willie Nelson's Blue Skies is the best, I think. It's so happy... brilliant for Fallout... :)
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Not heard that one, is it a version of the same song or just an identical title?

Thanks for the correction Requiem....

Hmm, well I hope those guys in Interplay and BIS don't screw us over and god forbid if Fallout 3 is teen, I will personally eat someones spleen....

But your overall suggestion, Req, isn't bad at all, hell sounds nice.

and DVD format they should go for ...

And hell, it would be cool if you could meet the Chosen One's bastard son he begot with Angela Bishop. Could be cool if you could make him a party member and perhaps even reunit him with his father that never knew him and see the family sparks fly.

Also, the ability to choose your race and stick with the complications would make some serious role playing.

Regarding all the idiots who say stuff like "i watn my characyter to hav3 a l33t katana", I think a katana would be a good addition to Fallout if it was an oddly placed easter egg, like in the back of an antiques shop (think Pulp Fiction). Maybe instead of being called a 'katana' it could just be called a 'Japanese sword' or something along the lines of that.
Also, the katana would not be especially good - it would just be a bladed weapon, good in a pinch but not exceptional. After all, if you overplay it, it just starts getting stupid.
Well, that's my thoughts on katanas.

Damn, son. If you got any dumber, you'd have to wear a helmet.

Well, as for the helmet, got that covered... *Taps skull Iron plate.*

as for the Louis Armstrong, I corrected myself on that. And be happy I am not talking leet.... Louis Armstrong, but if any other song would do, I'd be happy to find some.

As for Japanese Sword, yeah, give it the confines the wakizashi blade had. Weapons and what not can be further discussed.

i always got the idea that FO was set more into the future with just a retro styling.

dunno why i think this... maybe power armor and all of the logs that i read in game?

i think the most productive part of this thread is the talk of towns... the quests had a limited impact on how they interacted in FO2... but id like to see some real changes that maybe the player cant even stop... a war between NCR and VC that the player is caught in would be spicy.

VC was total crap! They couldn't last 5 minutes against NCR...unless those Enclave Troopers from Navarro decided to help out after the oil rig was destroyed....hmmmm......

frankly, i really don't think VC would declare war NCR, unless they ally with somebody. But i doubt the Enclave would ally with them, they had some rough relations in the past, u kno.

The Enclave pretty much sponsors Vault City, though it would be hard to interfere, lest they disrupt the 'vault project'. I wrote a whole, lavish backstory for my Fallout PNP campaign

(not meant as a rebuttal) how did the Enclave sponsor VC?
NOTE: I probobly forgot some massive proof of this and now look like a F00L.

By creating the Vault and the whole Vault program. Vault 8 was a control vault and thus was meant to do just fine. The Enclave were the ones who sent the all-clear signal to Vault 8's Overseer.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

VC had laser turrets...

Also, shouldn't one when they level up the skill and of course meet other benchmarks beable to d other stuff.. Like for example. Get Small guns to at least 75% and have 5 STR and 6 AG and you can use the butt of your rifle or pistol. Stock fighting.

I mean, in all of Fallout, not once was I able to take my AK-112 and smash it into some skag's cheek bone.... Other skills maybe learnt or gained.

Yep. The Vault is entirely naive about the whole thing though. Well, almost entirely...

Vault 13 was supposed to be the control group but they were missing extra water chips. The VC Vault just was told to open up early I believe. I never liked the whole vault experiments thing.

A small group of mercs were able to beat Vault City's turrets if you remember, but they were paid to disrupt VC but not to destory it by that New Reno guy. I wager that it would take 3 fully armed BoS paladins to take out VC and 5 to take out NCR.
