Official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trailer
Its got the 2nd best physics engine after Half Life 2, im sure if we hadnt seen all those videos wed have been jolly impressed.
The whole point of the crates was to show that explosives have a shockwave which no other game actually simulates, i.e. ONLY THE FIRE HURTS YOU!!! for grenades in MOHAA.
Theyve gone from having sod all AI to the beginnings of team tactics since E3 which in 2 months is quite a good effort.

I thought the part where the corpse falls on the Jeep and the shocks compress was pretty damn good, physics wise. The other part where they blast the Stalker off the tower and the falls on two or three different things and finally to the ground was nice, too. And yes, beautiful shadows and textures.

I laughed aloud when I saw that partSpazmo wrote:The other part where they blast the Stalker off the tower and the falls on two or three different things and finally to the ground was nice, too.
BTW, the gun the Stalker used in that scene wasn't a shotgun, was it? Please tell me it wasn't. Please. I ask because it kinda sounds like one (to me, at least. Been a while since I've heard an actual shottie, though.).

Have the system requirements been posted anywhere yet?
System Requirements :
CPU 450MHz
GeForce 2 MX
Recommended:
The more, the better.
Multiplayer: All popular modes: CTF, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Co-Op
I think you'll be able to run it looking very nice with a 1.2 ghz, 512 RAM, and a geforce 4. That actually a very cheap system to build right now if you do it yourself....
Last year I built a 1.5 ghz, nforce MB, 1gig RAM, 40 gb HD, 450 watt PS, Chieftec case, DVD rom, geforce 4 128 mb (4200 ti) for about $1000. I can play anything with the graphics cranked @ 1024... thats with some AA too. (that is excluding the monitor and other stuff, i just re-used that stuff from my old machine).
If you have a $1000 to build a computer with, you could build yourself something nicer than that right now. Or, if you just need a good graphic card, I think this is the best value you'll find right now.

About the scene where the man is shot off the tower, I'm pretty sure that the shotgun the shooter is holding was modified for range by the devs for the purpose of that trailer. I'm not sure why they didn't just give him a longer range weapon (read: I can't make up an excuse for them), but I imagine that's not how a shotgun will perform in the final game.

I have a 1.3 GHz P3, 128 MB GeForce4 4600Ti, 512 RDRAM, etc., etc., so I should be good-to-go. I can always take out all my 128 MB strips of RAM and put it 256's . I could also fit a 1.7 GHz P4 in the box without a new motherboard.
Anyway, like I said, I should be good-to-go as-is.
Still, can't g'damn wait for this to hit shelves.

Um, that must be running @ 640x480x16, no AA, no dynamic anything (shadows, lighting), low-quality models, no trees, no sky (I mean, what was the last game you played where clouds in the sky actually blocked out the sun? Anyone? Me too.), etc., etc.System Requirements :
CPU 450MHz
GeForce 2 MX

there should be a slight discount on games if you order them extremely early.
i really need new motherboard, which isnt a ton of money, but they really screw you on the CPU... but isnt some geforce card really cheap now because of the new one that came out? or is this one the new one and it's really pricy?

i bet that would make my computer explode :xswordinstone wrote:http://www.gameve.com/store/gameve_view ... roduct=752
I wonder what the rules are for driving vehicles.
Do they ever run out of gas?
Can you drive any vehicle you find (as long as it's not upside down or something)?
Can they be damaged by ramming into things?
This video is mostly for showing the physics of the game (and it's great!). I hope they will release a video showing the single player aspects soon.
The scenes with people actually running around and fighting seemed to be some sort of multiplayer Team Deathmatch to me.

If the only demonstration of physics you saw in that video was exploding boxes, well... I don't know what to say to this.Killzig wrote:Their demonstration of physics was also rather poor. Let's show you what esssploding boxes do! K?
Hmm? They had characters standing around so you could see what it looks like when they die. It wasn't intended to show AI. It was probably multiplayer and/or creatures stuck in without any scripts.Killzig wrote:The AI doesn't look too smart.

Morrowind, or at least I think.(I mean, what was the last game you played where clouds in the sky actually blocked out the sun? Anyone? Me too.), etc., etc.
EDITED: Mines a AMD Athlon Processor, 30Gig HD, 1.15GHz, 256 MB Ram and Gforce 2 errr something.
I think I need more RAM
EDITED: Would up'ing my Virtual Memory be a good replacement for RAM
Its at 384 - 768 right now
EDITED again: errr just forget about that ram question
